Birthdays Are the Best Days
I love birthdays! Not the getting older part so much, but being with family. When my brothers and I were young, Mom always made our birthdays special. We got to choose the kind of cake we wanted and the dinner menu. I always chose steak, which sounds super special, right? Our family raised beef cattle, though, so steak was just another dinner at home. My older brother always chose spaghetti and my younger brother chose fish sticks. Oddly enough, those were dishes we didn’t have very often.
Still, beef was (and is) one of my favorite things. I try to see my dad and mom on my birthday every year, and she still fixes a steak for me. (When people say, “You’re just like your mom!” it makes me very happy, because she is amazing.)
And Now, the Card
I loved the Beautiful Friendship Stamp Set from Stampin’ Up!® when I first saw it, but I have so many similar flower sets, I didn’t order it. But then I saw so many lovely cards made with that set – especially from Susan and Jackie. I usually use rewards from orders to stock up on paper and adhesives for classes, but this time, I saved a few for this stamp set. It’s so much fun – and so simple to create a beautiful card in very little time.
I think this card took about 10 minutes to create. It’s definitely a #simplestamping card!
I chose the colors from the new Peaceful Poppies Designer Series Paper. It’s in the January-June Mini Catalog, and you’ll be able to order from it in January. If you’re a demonstrator, though, you can order in December! Simply click the Join Now button at the bottom of this page on my web site. This paper is gorgeous! I don’t think there’s one design I’m not in love with.
How-To
First, stamp the roses in Poppy Parade Classic Ink along the side and bottom of the 4″ x 5-1/4″ piece of Whisper White Cardstock. Then add the other flowers in Blackberry Bliss. Stamp some leaves in Old Olive and a few in Garden Green. Finally, add the sentiment in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink.
Add the stamped card stock to a Blackberry Bliss card base using Stampin’ Dimensionals. That’s all there is to it. Of course, you can dress it up with some embellishments if you’d like. But it’s beautiful just the way it is.
It’s a beautiful day here in north western Virginia! I’m off to take a walk with my lovely granddaughter and her dad since she’s out of school all week, which will make the day even better.
Thanks for stopping by Stamping with Buffy. I hope you have a lovely day!
