Dressed To Impress
Here’s another sneak peek for you from the 2020 Stampin’ Up!® January – June Mini Catalog. The Dressed To Impress Stamp Set is adorable, and there are coordinating All Dressed Up Dies, Best Dressed 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper (DSP), Mint Macaron Ribbon, tassels, and 3″ x 3″ Note Cards and Envelopes. The note cards have a printed front and the envelopes have printed fronts and backs and a scalloped edge flap. So adorable. As always, if you bundle the stamp set and dies, you can save 10%. This suite of products will be available in January unless you’re a demonstrator. Demonstrators can preorder products in December. This card was another simple one, although I did use the All Dressed Up Dies. First, I stamped the lipstick in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink, then colored with Blackberry Bliss and Lovely Lipstick Stampin’ Blends. Then I die-cut the image with the coordinating die.
The Lovely Lipstick card base is 4-1/4″ x 11″, scored at 5-1/2″ to create the base. The Best Dressed DSP layer is 2″ x 5-1/2″. I placed it on the card base without adhering, then stamped the sentiment in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink. Why? Because sometimes I cut the paper too wide for a sentiment, or I stamp the sentiment a little too far to one side. By stamping before adhering, I could fix it if I miscalculated.
I added the die-cut lipstick with Stampin’ Dimensionals, then added the DSP. For a little more glam, I colored the stamped and DSP lipsticks with a little Wink of Stella. I also grabbed a piece of Mint Macaron ribbon for the top of the card. Oops – it’s retired, but there are lots of other ribbon options that will work. (The ribbon in this suite, for example!)
Be sure to check in on Friday for the BS&J challenge. This week, it’s a really fun sketch. It was perfect for an anniversary card for Mike! Today is our 37th anniversary, and I can honestly say it’s been the best 37 years of my life.
Here’s a little anniversary joke for you. On her grandparents’ anniversary, a girl asked her grandma, “How many years have you and Grandpa been married?” The grandma replied, “43 wonderful years. But 50 altogether.”
I have to say, our first year was a little rocky, because we were both used to being on our own. But we figured it out, and, as they say, “the rest is history!” Two kids, multiple business ventures, and a granddaughter later, I can honestly say my life is full!
Thanks for stopping by Stamping with Buffy. Have a beautiful day and a very happy Thanksgiving!
Product List (wait! Where are the images for the stamps and dies and DSP? Since it’s not even time for the demonstrator preorder, these aren’t available to show yet. You’ll see them in December and you can order in January. Another benefit of being a Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator and attending OnStage events is being able to order selected products even earlier than the preorder!)
