Beautiful Day Butterfly Easel Card

Beautiful Day Butterfly Easel Card

I started working on the Color Coaches today, and WOW! We punched a lot of 1/2″ circles. Of course, these little circles fly when you punch them, so I tried to catch them in my hand. Sadly, my “catching hand” got in the way a lot, so I’ll probably have bruises (or blisters) tomorrow. I saw a bruise earlier, but it disappeared when I washed my hands, so I’m guessing it was probably ink.

Anyway super kudos and hugs to my friend Christy Tobin for helping me punch. She came over at 11 – with lunch! – and stayed until almost 6 tonight. Everyone needs a friend like Christy! I keep hoping I can be as good a friend to her as she is to me, but I’m failing miserably, I think. She’s just too amazing.

Speaking of the Color Coach, our local demonstrator team challenge this month uses the colors from the Pineapple Punch page of the coach. I chose Pineapple Punch, Rich Razzleberry, and Poppy Parade for this card. (It was CASEd from Bronwyn Eastley.)

Score a piece of 4-1/2″ x 6″ piece of Whisper White Cardstock at 3″ and fold it in half. Stamp the Beautiful Day butterfly in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink on the folded cardstock, making sure the top ~1/4″ of the stamp is off the paper. Cut it out (go ahead and cut out the antennae and body of the butterfly as well), making sure to keep the folded edges together. So basically, you have two butterflies joined at the top of the wings.

Score the front piece horizontally at the center of the butterfly and fold it under. Stamp another butterfly on a separate piece of Whisper White Cardstock, and cut it out – including the body and antennae.

Stamp the floral image multiple times in Pineapple Punch, Rich Razzleberry, and Poppy Parade over all the images. Add adhesive to the bottom half of the full butterfly (not the folded one) and adhere it over the folded butterfly.

Finally – stamp the greeting from Itty Bitty Greetings on a Whisper White scrap in Rich Razzleberry ink, then ink the edges with Poppy Parade. Use Stampin’ Dimensionals to adhere the sentiment to the butterfly to create an easel.

Need visuals? I could take photos of mine, but why not go to the source? Check out Bronwyn’s tutorial here.

Thanks for stopping by Stamping with Buffy. Have a lovely day!
