In with the New Stamp-Off Challenge
Today is an extra special day. Not only is it another Stamp Off Friday, but it’s also the beginning of the 2018-19 Stampin’ Up! Annual Catalog sales period. That’s right! You can begin ordering from the new catalog at noon Mountain Time today. If you need a catalog, please let me know (and send me your address!) and I’ll send you one.
Speaking of the new catalog, this week’s challenge is perfect for “Catalog Kick-Off Day.”
We’re using new products for this one! Most of the products on my card are new, but there are a few carry-overs.
The Story Behind the Card
Amelia has eczema, and it flared up over the weekend. Wes asked me if I could take her to the doctor and get a new prescription on Tuesday, since both he and Steph were working. Since it was a “sick” appointment, we didn’t get an appointment with her doctor, so we were in a different room. Her “usual” room has a rain forest theme, but the room on Tuesday was a Serengeti theme. It was gorgeous, and Amelia loved it. (She was also glad she was “sick,” because the waiting room for sick kids has a fish tank. The “well waiting room” isn’t as fun.) I was debating which room to sit in, because she wasn’t really sick. “Oh, yes, Seesa. I’m sick. Because I like the fish.”
Anyway – we enjoyed the room so much, I decided to try to recreate it.
How To
This is such a fun and easy card to create. Sponge Pumpkin Pie, Poppy Parade, Merry Merlot, and Early Espresso on a piece of Whisper White Cardstock. Then stamp the tree and sentiment from Rooted in Nature two times, the giraffe from Animal Outing, and the birds from High Tide all in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink. I wanted a silhouette of a giraffe, so I colored it with a Basic Black Stampin’ Write Marker. That’s all there is to this! To finish, layer the stamped panel to an Early Espresso layer, then to a Pumpkin Pie card base. (Tip: Use the Stamparatus to be sure you get a perfectly stamped image for the sentiment.)
Merry Merlot is a new color and Poppy Parade is a returning In Color. Rooted in Nature and Animal Outing are new sets (and both have coordinating framelits which you can bundle with the stamps and save 10%); High Tide is a returning set from the 2017-18 catalog.
Now, check out Susan’s and Jackie’s blogs. I can’t wait to see their creations. Both have shown a few sneak peeks over the last month, and they’ve been amazing!
Thanks for stopping by Stamping with Buffy. Have a lovely day!

Buffy, what a stunning card and wonderful technique. The black silhouettes against that colorful background makes for such a realistic design! Love the inspiration behind it!
