Easter Friends

Easter Friends

Welcome back, Friends! And may I just say, “Brrrrr!” I know this crazy weather isn’t specific to Virginia, but wow! Last week, it was so spring-like and lovely. Flowers were blooming, trees started to bud, and everyone here was looking forward to warmer weather. This weekend we’ve had wind, rain, sleet, and snow. It looks like the weather will act more like spring around Wednesday; until then, I’m back to sweatshirts, gloves, and winter boots.

This week, I’ll be showing you some stamp sets, bundles, and Designer Series Paper (DSP) you may have overlooked in the Stampin’ Up!® January-June Mini and the 2021-2022 Annual Catalogs. Sadly, most of the products I’m using will not be carrying over after May 2 (or June 30, for the mini), and now that the Last Chance List has been released, retiring products are while supplies last.

Here’s a quick note about the retiring products in the online store. Some products that are shown are current bundles. Unless the description includes retiring soon, individual products are not retiring, but the bundle price is. So if there are some bundles you’ve been on the fence about, now is the time to order them so you can save 10% And remember that select bundles and the Mini Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine are 20% off in March!

Easter Friends, January-June Mini Catalog, Stampin' Up!, Love & Happiness

The Easter Friends Stamp Set was one of the first I ordered from the January-June Mini Catalog. Amelia’s current favorite animal is a bunny. Specifically, her bunny Havana, appropriately nicknamed BunBun. He’s not a floppy eared bunny this this one, but I still had to get it for her.

While the last chance list for the January-June Mini hasn’t been released quite yet, this set will most likely be on it when it is. As a Stampin’ Up!® Demonstrator, I have already gotten a peek at the new Annual Catalog, and the Easter Friends Stamp Set isn’t in it.

I stamped the bunny in Early Espresso Classic Ink, then colored it with Natural Tones Stampin’ Blends. BunBun is mostly white with some brown and black spots, so this bunny isn’t quite a twin, but I think he’s cute, don’t you?

Rabbits seem to love flowers and leaves, so I die-cut quite a few from the Bouquet of Love Hybrid Embossing Folder and the beautiful New Horizons DSP. Bouquet of Love is a set of dies and a coordinating embossing folder that work together, and they’re part of the Love & Happiness Bundle. I didn’t use the stamps or embossing folder, but the dies include some stitched flowers and leaves. I used Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals and Multipurpose Liquid Glue to arrange them around the bunny.

The flower centers are open, so I added some 2021-2023 In Color Jewels to them. There will be embellishments for the In Colors that are carrying over in the new catalog, but not these jewels. And it doesn’t look like the Love & Happiness Bundle products or the New Horizons DSP will be in the new catalog either, so snatch them up while you can. I will say, though, that you will not be disappointed in the new DSP choices. There’s something for everyone, and they are beautiful, as always.

I used three of the retiring 2020-2022 In Color Stampin’ Write Markers (Misty Moonlight, Just Jade, Magenta Madness) to ink the sentiment stamp. It seemed more fun and it fit a current challenge I’m part of. The card base is Bumblebee, a fourth retiring In Color.

Thanks for stopping by Stamping with Buffy. Have a lovely day!

I love the pop of color of the flowers. That bunny is so cute! I can see why Amelia loves it.

  3. This bunbun is adorable! I like how he’s sitting in the flower garden (does Mr. McGregor know?!)

Thank you, Deborah! We are keeping Mr. McGregor away from the windows and the garden. Funny story. When Jon was small, we went to a children’s play about Beatrix Potter. After the show, all the characters lined up outside the auditorium to sign autographs (in character). When Jon got to Mr. McG, he said, “You know how you can keep Peter out of your garden? Traps.” He answered, “Ach! Did you hear that Peter? Traps!” Of course, we did have “box” traps that simply captured them, and then you could relocate them to the woods.
