Penguin Place

Penguin Place

Happy Monday! I didn’t realize the card I was posting today used several (now retired) Sale-a-bration products. I try not to use products that are unavailable, but it is a good lesson about not putting off ordering what you love until it’s too late, don’t you think? Sometimes I want to kick myself when I miss out on something especially cute!

Penguin Place, Stampin' Up!

How adorable is that little penguin? I also realized (too late!) that I forgot to give him feet. Oh, goodness! Maybe he’s just really cold and is sitting on them. We’ll go with that, but you must know that as soon as I get home, I’ll be punching some little feet!

This is the Penguin Place Bundle that includes the Penguin Place Stamp Set and Penguin Builder Bunch. I think this little guy is so adorable – and apparently, so do a lot of other people. The punch – and consequently, the bundle – are currently unavailable until early November. *gasp!* But it should still be here in time for you to use him on holiday and winter cards. And who knows? Maybe this bundle will carry over from the Stampin’ Up!® July-December Mini Catalog to the Annual Catalog! But don’t wait, hoping that it will still be available. You’ll want to put him on your shopping list and order as soon as he’s available!

I am in love with Fresh Freesia, one of the 2021-2023 In Colors, so I used that as my card base. I trimmed three pieces of the Designer Series Paper (DSP) from Sale-a-bration that coordinates with the Penguin Place Stamp Set and added them to a panel of Just Jade Cardstock. I stamped the sentiment on the center piece using Gorgeous Grape Classic Ink.

After trimming a banner from Pumpkin Pie Cardstock, I added it to the Fresh Freesia card base, then added the Just Jade Cardstock and DSP over it. I used the So Many Snowflakes Dies from the Annual Catalog to die-cut the sparkly flakes. Again, the shimmery paper is another Sale-a-bration product that is now gone. I added the snowflakes to the card using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

And finally – the punched, footless penguin was added over one of the snowflakes. I used the stamps in the Penguin Place Stamp Set to add his eyes, beak, and hat.

While you will not be able to order the DSP or shimmery paper, there are alternatives if you missed these during Sale-a-bration. The Ombre Specialty Paper in either Night of Navy or Gorgeous Grape would make lovely snowflakes. And any of our winter-themed DSP in the July-December Mini Catalog would make a beautiful background for the penguin.

Please check back on Wednesday, when I promise to use products you can order now! Thanks for stopping by Stamping with Buffy. Have a lovely day!

I am with Jackie. It is good to use retired DSP. Otherwise it just sits in a closet or drawer and piles up (ask me how I know this). Your card is adorable!
