It’s all about the Paper
Welcome back to another BS & J Friday Challenge with my friends Susan and Jackie and me. This week’s theme is The Colors of Fall.
Since I love fall colors, this was an easy challenge. As it happens, I finally remembered to order the Pattern Party Designer Series Paper (DSP). This 12″ x 12″ paper is so fun and it’s free with Host Rewards. Host a minimum $180 party, and you can select this paper as one of your free items! The colors pop off the page and there are also several black and white designs. I used one of those.
When I started this card, the leaves on the DSP were white. I used Cajun Craze, Calypso Coral, Cinnamon Cider, Bumblebee, Old Olive Pumpkin Pie and Crumb Cake Stampin’ Blends to create the gorgeous background. I adhered it to a Calypso Coral card base, and added a 1″ x 4-1/4″ strip of Bumblebee Cardstock about 2/3 of the way down.
I had ordered the Ombre Specialty Paper, but hadn’t had a chance to use it yet, so I die-cut a scalloped circle out of the Mango Melody sheet using the Layering Circles Dies. Oh, my gosh! This paper is so sparkly, but the glittery goodness won’t rub off. That means you can send this to your Grinchy-glitter-haters and they won’t be upset.
The sentiment is from the a retired stamp set that accidentally got mixed in with my current stamps. Oops! But there are tons of stamps that will fit in a circle! I used Very Vanilla Cardstock and die-cut a circle smaller than the ombre one. I used Cajun Craze Ink to stamp the sentiment.
Before I adhered the circles to the card, I added some glue to the back and “tousled” some twine behind it. To make it extra secure – and to pop the circles up – I added Stampin’ Dimensionals over the twine.
Now, please go see what Jackie and Susan have created using fall colors. I can’t wait!
I hope you make some time to create a card for World Card Making Day tomorrow! And don’t forget to send it. If you’re like me, I hoard my cards until they’re overflowing unless I make one specifically for someone. I’m doing better, though!
Thanks for stopping by Stamping with Buffy. Have a lovely day!

It was fun, but, remember “Magic Markers?” Stampin’ Blends affect me like that! It’s good that this paper was small!

Colouring in the leaves is perfect – the card wouldn’t have the same feeling, if they were left white!

Thank you, Deborah! I was happy (and surprised) at how much brighter they were.
