Hydrangea Hill Treat Box
Welcome back, my crafting friends, It’s another week full of exciting possibilities! I have such a fun project for you today. Every now and then, I like to do 3D projects – boxes, bags, notebooks, and other things that are of practical use. I was inspired by the Stampin’ Up! Love You Always Treat Boxes in the January-June Mini Catalog.
Here’s the closed box. I made the bottom from Rococo Rose Cardstock, and the sleeve from the Hydrangea Hill Mercury Glass Designer Acetate. The acetate has four 12″ x 12″ sheets – two Rococo Rose and two Highland Heather. It is so beautiful!
To make the box, you need a 5″ x 7-1/2″ piece of Rococo Rose Cardstock. Score all four sides 1-1/2″ from the edge. On two opposite sides, snip on the 1-1/2″ vertical score lines to the horizontal score. You can snip the edge of the tabs, from the edge to where the scores meet (kind of like a very skinny triangle) for neater folds. Adhere the tabs inside, and you have an open box.
For the sleeve, you’ll need a 4″ x 7-1/2″ piece of the acetate. Score at 1-9/16″, 3-9/16″, 5-1/16″, and 7-1/16″. If you use a bone folder when you fold on the scores, you’ll get really nice creases. Use Tear & Tape Adhesive to adhere the 1/2″ flap inside the sleeve. That’s it! It’s a tight squeeze, but it will work.
To embellish, I stamped the sentiment from the Punch Party Stamp Set (free with a $300 party during Sale-a-bration) using Rococo Rose Ink on Basic White Cardstock, then punched with the Double Oval Punch. I punched a Rococo Rose oval with the larger oval in the Double Oval Punch and layered the two ovals. The last step was adding a bow using the Gorgeous Grape Sheer Ribbon, also in the Hydrangia Hill Suite.
You can put lots in this little box. It’s 4″ x 2″ x 1-1/2″, and it’s perfect for little gifts, candy, wrapped cakes (like a Twinkie), or small cookies.
I hope your week is off to an amazing start! Thanks for stopping by Stamping with Buffy. Have a lovely day!
