Jar of Sunflowers
How much do you love the new Stampin’ Up!® Annual Catalog? Oh, my goodness! It’s awesome. I placed a very nice order yesterday and it will be here Monday. I can’t wait to show you some more of the new products. In the meantime, here’s another Jar of Flowers card.
I used the Jar of Flowers Stamp Set for this card. First, I stamped the jar and flowers on Fluid 100 Watercolor Paper using Saddle Brown Stazon Ink. I used Watercolor Pencils and Watercolor Pencils 2 to color the jar and the flowers. Then I blended a bit with an Aqua Painter. (Note: the Aqua Painters have retired, but we now have Water Pens. Mine haven’t gotten here yet, so I used Aqua Painters.)
I punched the jar using the Jar Punch (bundle the punch and the Jar of Flowers Stamp Set and save 10%. Or get this bundle free when you join my team!*). Then I “fussy cut” the flowers with my paper snips.
After I die-cut a Stitched Rectangle from Whisper White Cardstock, I layered the jar and the flowers to the stitched rectangle panel with Stampin’ Dimensionals. Then I added it to a piece of the 2020-2022 In Color Designer Series Paper, then to a Cherry Cobbler card base. The sentiment, stamped on Whisper White Cardstock using Early Espresso Classic Ink on Whisper White Card Stock and punched with the Tailored Tag Punch, is from the Timeless Tulips Stamp Set. I added a bit of Clear Wink of Stella on the centers of the sunflowers, but it’s not easy to see in the photo. Wink of Stella is very bold in person, but in photos it’s really shy.
So today, there was a chance that I’d be babysitting Amelia if Wes had overtime. He didn’t, but I still got to play with her a little. We had so much fun today. She’s trying to teach me how to play her favorite video game. I am not good at video games, but I’m learning. She’s so patient and kind. She’ll make a great teacher one day, if that’s what she chooses to do. She decided to teach me to run a few weeks ago, because most of the time, I don’t run. I’m almost 62 years old. I do not have to run. Even if someone is chasing me, I’m not going to run. I’ll just pretend to be crazy or something to get them to leave me alone. Still, Amelia insisted that I learn.
She showed me the beginning stance. It was very like the beginning stance of throwing a Frisbee (which was a lesson from several weeks ago). Then – just “pump your legs as fast as you can.” After she had been running for awhile, I started running and was abreast of her.
“That’s the spirit!” she cried. Oh, my goodness. That was so funny, I started laughing, which caused me to lose the race. Maybe that was her idea in the first place.
*About the joining my team and bundles comment – From June 3-30, if you decide to become a Stampin’ Up!® Demonstrator, you can add a stamp/tool bundle to your starter kit. That means when you sign up to be a demonstrator, you can add any punch/stamp or die/stamp bundle to your starter kit for free! And if you decide to host a class/workshop/party – you can add an additional $25 to your Stampin’ Rewards with a $250 order. How cool is that? It’s a minimum of $50 in Stampin’ Rewards if you host a qualifying party. Contact me to schedule your party today!
Thanks for stopping by Stamping with Buffy. Have a lovely day!

I love your Amelia stories (and your cards). She seems like such a sweetie. I don’t run either but maybe I need to learn how.

Thanks, Susan! Amelia loves to run. She just got her first pair of “real” running shoes. She was so excited!

This is another wonderful jar card. I love the colors that you’ve selected, and that background DSP. Amelia is a great teacher because she has inherited her grandmother’s gift.

“That’s the spirit”! OMGosh – I burst out laughing! What a wonderful, supportive, good hearted person Amelia is! I might try running if she encouraged me 😉 (or not, you know….) I love your colourful sunflowers, Buffy!

I cracked up as well. It was so out of the blue! She is a sweetheart, but I don’t want to get too carried away with this running thing! Thanks, Deborah! I love the red and purple sunflowers that I’ve seen (in real life). They are so unexpected!
