Wonderful Things
When I checked my email this morning, I thought, “Why isn’t my blog post here?” And then I remembered. Some of the kids came over to swim last night, and then I started watching reruns of old TV shows (My Three Sons and Murder, She Wrote. Quite a duo, don’t you think?) Of course, I fell asleep on the couch, and the next thing I knew it was 1 a.m. No crafting gets done around here at 1 a.m. (Well, rarely, anyway.)
So I happened to see this on the table this morning.
I think I’ve finally found a “Lineless Watercoloring” technique that I like. I decided to try a different approach from stamping in a super light ink. I stamped the rose from Rose Wonder in Versamark and clear embossed it on Watercolor Paper. Either I didn’t get the stamp inked enough or I didn’t heat all the powder, because some of the lines are really faint. But that actually worked in my favor for this technique, because they’re supposed to be invisible.
After I heated the powder, I started adding ink with Classic Stampin’ Pads and an aqua painter. I used Old Olive, Peekaboo Peach, and Calypso Coral. I also added a little Pumpkin Pie around the center of the rose so it wouldn’t look like just a big blob of ink.
I got a little carried away with my water and somehow had a few unintentional splatters around the rose. I’m not sure what I was doing for that to happen, but I decided to go with it. I added some Tranquil Tide and Pool Party to the Aqua Painter (not at the same time) and splattered a little more so it would look like it was well planned instead of an accident.
I pulled out Just Add Text for the sentiment. This is a lovely and versatile set; you’re going to want to add it to your stamp collection! The sentiment and card base are both Tranquil Tide. That color always makes me feel warm and happy. Maybe it’s the name.
Hope you’re having a wonderful day! Thanks for stopping by Stamping with Buffy. Be sure to tune in tomorrow (oh, wow – those old TV shows are starting to have an effect on my blog!) for our Stamp-Off Challenge!

Thanks, Deborah! It’s one good thing about being a “messy stamper!” You never know what might be lying around!

I have wondered when the ‘pace” you set for yourself would catch up with you. Your body took a page from my book – “when you have pushed it hard enough, it just gets itself some rest!!”. I’m glad you blogged this. Lineless is lovely! Happy colors and pre art.
