Stamp-Off Friday Sketch Challenge
It’s Stamp-Off Friday! This week we have a sketch challenge.
I love sketch challenges, because you can be very creative with them – or you can take them literally. When I’m pressed for time, I usually use elements exactly like the sketch. This week, I had some extra time to think about what I’d like to do – so I stretched things a little.
Don’t you love this card? I sometimes have at least one thing I’m a little “iffy” over, but I love everything about this one. I substituted the main circle for a dragonfly from Dragonfly Dreams. I stamped the dragonfly with Old Olive and Pool Party and die-cut it with the Detailed Dragonfly thinlits. I die-cut another dragonfly from Silver Foil, then clipped it and used only the wings over the stamped image.
For the horizontal elements. I used Washi Tape (Basics Pack 2 and Basics Pack 3). I exchanged the tiny little flower by the sentiment for some Glitter Enamel Dots. For my sentiment layer, I used a stamp from Text Ya Later in Fresh Fig, then punched with a retired oval punch.
One of my favorite new products is the Pinewood Planks Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. The dynamic folders leave a deep impression in the card stock. I sponged a bit of Fresh Fig over the embossing to bring it out a bit, as well as to pull in the Fresh Fig from the designer series paper. And, of course, there’s more Fresh Fig in the card base.
The strip of Whole Lot of Lovely Designer Series Paper was the inspiration for this card. It seemed to cry out for the dragonfly and the Pinewood Planks embossing folder, and the colors are so gorgeous together.
Thanks for stopping by Stamping with Buffy. Have a wonderful day!
