Timber! – Sketch Challenge

CPC43, Craft Project Central, Stampin' Up!

I decided to make another card for the “Creating Pretty Cards” sketch challenge at Craft Project Central.  My latest order arrived late last week, and I finally got a little time to play!

I love this card.  I used the Adventure Bound designer series paper stack for the front panels and book mark.  It’s beautiful – with photos on one side and a paper design on the other.  Gorgeous!  You can bundle it with the Adventure Awaits stamp set and save 15% (which, of course, is what I did).

The sentiment is from the “Wood You Be Mine?” set.  I wanted the hearts on the sentiment to be Cherry Cobbler, so I inked the entire stamp with Early Espresso, then used a Blender Pen to remove the Early Espresso from the hearts.  I colored back over them with a Cherry Cobbler marker.  This was much easier than inking the entire stamp with markers.

As a final touch – and to add just another pop of color – I used the heart punch from the “Itty Bitty Accents Punch Pack” to punch two Cherry Cobbler hearts to add to the banner die cut.  And I just realized the Always Artichoke seam binding ribbon and the All Is Calm washi tape have retired.  Oops.  However, there are other ribbons and tape that will look just as nice – or even better!  Early Espresso seam binding ribbon or Mossy Meadow stitched satin ribbon (which I wanted to use, but it seems I’ve run out) would be beautiful, and Epic Day washi tape would be perfect.

So now it’s your turn!  Create a card using the sketch, and then post it to the CPC site.  Each month, there’s a drawing for one free subscription for every 10 cards.  So if there are 12 cards, there’s one winner; 20 cards – two winners, 30 cards – 3 winners…you get the idea!  So enter that card!

Here’s the sketch –
