Stampin' Up!, Butterfly Basics

I have to say, one of my favorite sets from the new Stampin’ Up! Occasions catalog is the Butterfly Basics set.  It’s vintage-y, so, of course, I love it!  And you have a choice of wood mount, clear mount, or photopolymer.  Plus, you can bundle it with the coordinating Butterflies Thinlits dies and save 15%.  Sadly, the only two cards I’ve made with it are sympathy cards.  I need to create something happy with the set, and soon!

This card was inspired by my dear, sweet Amelia.  Jon and Rachel gave her a sleeper (among other things) for Christmas, and the colors are Tangelo Twist, Mossy Meadow, Soft Suede and Very Vanilla.  Can you believe it?  The girl is nothing if not trendy!

Everything on this card is from Butterfly Basics except the sentiment.  That’s a retired set, but I just can’t part with it.  I added a few Neutrals candy dots and a punched butterfly (over a stamped one) so it would have a little dimension.  And, of course, I had to sponge some Soft Suede ink over the edges.

This card was for a young guy, so I didn’t add the Sahara Sand lace trim that I was itching to use!  It’s for a tenant, so it had to look professional – and it has “CEO approval.”

And now – as I promised, here are Miss Amelia’s Faux Baby Doc Martens boots.  If I could find a pair of these in my size, I’d buy them in a heartbeat.

It was very difficult to get a photo, because she wanted to use the phone – and it’s a little blurry.  The girl is always moving, so all pictures are blurry lately.  But they’re a shiny black with pink flowers and GORGEOUS black organdy ribbon laces.  So cute!  And look at the lavender leggings she was sporting that day.  Looks like she has some pink socks to match the flowers on the boots as well.  If she’s anything like her mom, she’s always going to be in fashion, for sure!

Thanks for stopping by Stamping with Buffy.  Have a wonderful day!
