Team Challenge – Tea for Two

Tea For Two, Vintage Verses, Secret Garden, Team challenge For our stamping team meeting  this month, I decided to play a little game for fun.  I thought it was fun, but I don’t think all of my team members enjoyed it as much as I thought they would.

I read about this on our Stampin’ Up! demonstrator forum.  Everyone received a bag with identical supplies as everyone else.  You begin creating a card, but before you finish, you pass it to the next person.  Then she works on it for a while, and passes it to another person.  The only rule was you could only use the tools on the table (embossing folders, framelits, ink,  punches) and the supplies in your bag.

Above is my card – and it basically ended up the same way I had envisioned.  I think all I had glued before I passed it to Liz was the doily behind the designer paper, so she just got a pile of ribbon and stamped/die cut/punched pieces.  I think I had also layered the two flowers with the designer brad.  I love the way it turned out!

Tea For Two, Vintage Verses, Secret Garden, Team challengeThis was Sandy’s.  She had a lot done before I got it.  I added an extra layer of card stock, the hexagon designer series paper in the Pool Party core’dinations card stock and the ribbon under the brad.  Sandy already had the brad done; I just made a little bow with leftover ribbon.

This is Liz’s.  Tea For Two, Vintage Verses, Secret Garden, Team challengeSandy added butterflies and the ribbon to Liz’s card – and a little Dazzling Details to the butterflies, which she died with marker.  Cute, right?  I love how Liz stamped the frame from one stamp and the sentiment from another.  (Both are from the Vintage Verses Sale-a-bration set.)  And I forgot my Stamp-a-ma-jig, so she did a great job of “eyeing” it!

When the cards were passed to the final person, we mostly just worked on the inside.  The fronts were finished as much as we wanted.

Challenges like this really help with creativity, because you start with an idea, then pick up someone else’s idea for another card.

Below is the list of supplies we started with.  Most are from the Stampin’ Up! Spring Catalog “Tea for Two” suite.

Thanks for stopping by Stamping with Buffy – and have a wonderful day!
