Two-Tone Twofer

Two-Tone Two-fer

Masterfully Made, Wanted to Say, Two-Tone Flora, Sending Smiles

I know “two-fer” usually refers to a BOGO (“buy one/get one”) offer, but it still seemed appropriate for these cards. Except for the sentiments, I used the same products on each card.

First, I die-cut a piece of Basic White Cardstock using the large background die in the Two-Tone Flora Dies. Then I cut 1/3 off the bottom. I used the larger piece on the “Sending” card and the smaller, bottom third on the Happy Birthday card. To make it a little bolder, I sponged Blackberry Bliss ink on the smaller piece using a Blending Brush.

Next, I cut a 4″ strip from a sheet of the Masterfully Made Designer Series Paper (DSP). Honestly, this may be my favorite DSP of all time. You need to go to my web site to fully appreciate it. If you click the above link, look on the left side and you can see each full sheet. Click on that sheet and you can view it even larger. I used this piece.

I adhered about a 2″ x 4″ piece of the DSP and the larger die-cut to a Fresh Freesia card base and a 3-1/4″ x 4″ piece of the DSP and the smaller, Blackberry Bliss portion of the die-cut to a second Fresh Freesia card base. Next, I cut about 1″ x 4″ of the remaining strip of the DSP and tore it into two thin 4″ long strips to cover the “seam” where the DSP and die-cut met.

The “Sending” card was a little pale, so I colored a few white embellishments with Berry Burst Stampin’ Blends and added them to the card. Sadly, while I thought I had pulled out all my retired embellishments, these seemed determined to stay with the current ones, so I inadvertently used retired Elegant Faceted Gems. So much for my organization!

For the “Sending” card, I stamped Sending and sunshine in Highland Heather Ink and die-cut with the Sending Dies. Since there wasn’t a die small enough for sunshine, I die-cut this two times, moving the die for the second run through the Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine.

For the birthday card, I die-cut “Happy Birthday” from Blackberry Bliss Cardstock and then the shadow from Highland Heather Cardstock using the Wanted to Say Dies. Honestly, if you weren’t familiar with our products, you may not realize at first glance that these two cards are basically the same. It’s amazing how a change of sentiment, a little ink. and different pieces of DSP will change a card!

Thanks for stopping by Stamping with Buffy. Have a lovely day!
