Regal Reindeer

Happy Friday, my friends!  This week has seemed so short; I’m thinking it’s because Monday was a holiday. After being away for five days, I’ve been catching up yard work. Jon & Adrianna gave Mike & me some clippers and pruners for Mothers’ & Fathers’ Day, and I had a blast cutting down some scrub brush that was creeping over our fence. I also trimmed a few branches that I had to keep dodging when I mowed. And, of course, the wind had blown quite a few leaves into the pool, so I had to get them out. Things look pretty good, I think. Tomorrow, I’m doing some baking for Stephanie’s birthday (Amelia’s mom) and cleaning up the house a bit. Our cats are enjoying their “scratch pads,” but they sure do make a mess. And then, hopefully, I can get back to my stamp room after the birthday festivities.

Here’s a card I made using the Regal Reindeer Bundle from the July-December Mini Catalog.

This was so fun to make, because I love to color. First, I stamped the trees on Very Vanilla Cardstock using Shaded Spruce Classic Ink. I stamped several times before I re-inked my stamp. Then I stamped them again on a Very Vanilla Scrap and die-cut them with the coordinating Reindeer Dies. (If you use the bundle number – 159728 – you’ll save 10% over the cost of purchasing the stamps and dies separately. AND you’ll be able to select a Sale-a-bration Level 1 set!)

Next, I stamped the reindeer and little girl images on another piece of Very Vanilla. I colored them with Stampin’ Blends – Sweet Sorbet, Crumb Cake, Night of Navy, Tahitian Tide, Soft Suede, and Petal Pink.

After I die-cut the images, I added them to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. The sentiment, from the Leaves of Holly Stamp Set, is stamped in Early Espresso directly on the card. I added the card to a Tahitian Tide layer, and then to a Sweet Sorbet card base.
