Happiness Abounds

Happiness Abounds

Happy Friday, my friends! I hope you had a chance to take advantage of the free shipping offer from Stampin’ Up!® yesterday. I sure did! There were a couple sets and dies in the January-June Mini Catalog that will be carrying over, but the bundle price will not be continuing after June, so I snatched those up so I could save 10%. Plus I added some adhesives, because I can always use adhesives! So discount plus free shipping – YAY!

My card today is a sneak peek of the new Happiness Abounds Bundle from the Hues of Happiness Suite. This card will probably be going to my amazing niece Beth. Beth is the one who made me an aunt. Although I have nieces and nephews older than Beth, they’re either step-nieces and nephews or “in-laws.” I love them all so much, but Beth is the one I met first. Beth was born with Down’s Syndrome, but there is nothing slow or “retarded” about her. In fact, that extra chromosome just makes her extra awesome. She is so sweet and kind and loving. And if anyone needed any other confirmation about her awesomeness, they just need to watch her with animals. They flock to her! Max – who rarely leaves my side – immediately runs to find Beth when we go visit. He is her number one fan (after her parents, grandma, and me, of course!).

Beth’s parents decided to treat her like any other kid. So when she was four years old, they entered her into preschool. Oh, my goodness! The school taught phonics with their reading program, and soon Miss Beth was reading like a champ. She read everything, and she sounded words out if she didn’t know them by sight. I remember the day she found one of Mike’s Money Magazines. She read an entire article to me. I don’t know if either of us understood what it was about, but she nailed every word. She was five.

Another day, Beth was at my house with another girl in her Kindergarten class. The other child was stumbling over her reading assignment, but Beth was looking at her with such pride on her face. I remember thinking that my Beth wouldn’t have stumbled over any of the words, but I was so proud of the way she encouraged her friend. She has made all of our lives better, and I couldn’t imagine life without her in it.

Recently she has been coming to my monthly card-making classes. Beth is so artistic. She rarely makes cards exactly like the examples, but always adds her own creative spin on them. And they’re always beautiful.

Beth’s favorite colors are pink and purple, so I thought this card would be perfect for her.

Happiness Abounds, Stampin' Up!, Down's Syndrome

I used products from the Hues of Happiness Suite in the upcoming 2022-2023 Stampin’ Up!® Annual Catalog for this card. First, I stamped the roses using Mango Melody Classic Ink on Basic White Cardstock. Then I stamped the leaves in the new Parakeet Party Classic Ink. I used the Blossoming Happiness Dies to die-cut the flowers and leaves and colored them with Pale Papaya, Daffodil Delight, and Parakeet Party Stampin’ Blends.

I LOVE the Hues of Happiness Designer Series Paper (DSP). Not only does it coordinate with the Blossoming Happiness Dies, but it has beautiful designs as well. I added the die-cut flowers and leaves to the DSP, then stamped the sentiment from the Happiness Abounds Stamp Set in Orchid Oasis Classic Stampin’ Ink. The final touches were the Irridescent Rhinestones and Fresh Freesia Open Weave Ribbon.

Thanks for letting me brag about my amazing niece and for stopping by Stamping with Buffy. Have a lovely day!

(Please note that the products from the 2022-2023 Annual Catalog are not listed since you cannot purchase them right now unless you’re a demonstrator. Want to join? Check here.)
