My Favorite Retiring Stamp Set

My Favorite Retiring Stamp Set

On May 4, Stampin’ Up!® is launching the 2021-2022 Annual Catalog. I’m really excited! As a Stampin’ Up!® Demonstrator, I could preorder selected products from the new catalog a month early, but not everything was available. There are quite a few products I want to try out, so I’m ready for May!

Sadly, to make room for new products, a lot of products are being retired. One of my very favorite stamp sets, Waterfront, is retiring. It is such a fun set, because you can create lots of lovely beach/lake/river scenes, as well as backgrounds and more.

Waterfront, Stampin' Up!

This idea is from another demonstrator, and I cannot remember her name. Her card was black and white and the scene was a little different. I stamped my scene on Basic White Cardstock using various blue and green inks, then added the sun in Daffodil Delight Classic Ink. I squeezed a Balmy Blue Stamp Pad to transfer some color to the lid of the stamp pad, then used a Water Brush to add a little sky. (Tip: If you squeeze the stamp pad between your palms, it’s easier to transfer the ink to the lid.)

I used two of the Layering Ovals Dies to cut the center out of the Basic White stamped panel. This created a frame around the die-cut oval piece. I adhered the original stamped piece to a Misty Moonlight card base, then added the center back in. The last step was to add the frame using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

This card was super easy to create. One reason I love the Waterfront (and Snowfront, and My Meadow Stamp Sets) is you can create a beautiful project that looks watercolored, but it’s so simple with a few stamps.

Not only is the Waterfront Stamp Set retiring, but so are Snowfront and My Meadow, as well as the Layering Ovals Dies. Be sure you order soon, before they are retired. (Sadly, the Layering Ovals Dies are already sold out and are no longer available.)

Thanks for stopping by Stamping with Buffy. Have a lovely day!
