Pink Painted Harvest

Pink Painted Harvest

Happy Wednesday! I hope your week is going well. Amelia’s parents are all working today, so we got to have a sleepover last night. So fun!

My friend Rose posted a photo of pink sunflowers the other day. They were so gorgeous, I decided to try and recreate them.

Painted Harvest, Stampin' Up!

This isn’t exactly like the photo, but I’m happy with how it turned out. I used Flirty Flamingo and Rich Razzleberry to stamp the sunflowers and Granny Apple Green and Garden Green for the greenery. I added a little Daffodil Delight and Soft Suede for the centers of the sunflowers.

After I stamped the sentiment in Garden Green, I thought it looked a bit bare, so I used Stampin’ Sponges to add some Balmy Blue background. I turned away from my table for two seconds to get an Aqua Painter to flick some Flirty Flamingo ink over the card.

When I turned back around, my sponge was missing. So was the cat who had been sitting on the table watching me. Suspicious. My cat loves playing with sponges. After she has chewed them a little, they really don’t work well. You don’t get a smooth line any more when you sponge because there are chunks missing. Fortunately I have a large stash of sponges, because I lose at least one a week to the cat.

Several days later, I noticed her chasing something around the house. There was my (now her) sponge. She saw me watching, so she snatched it up and ran to the couch. After dropping her treasure on the sofa, she sat on top of it and looked at me, like, “What? I have nothing.” That was the day she discovered it’s not as much fun to steal the sponges if I don’t try to get them back.

The Painted Harvest Stamp Set is retiring in June, so be sure to order today so you don’t miss out. You can see all the products that are retiring here. Remember, retiring products are available through June 2 or while supplies last.

Thanks for stopping by Stamping with Buffy. Have a wonderful day!

I love pink sunflowers. these are beautiful. Cats sure like to be in the middle of things. My Pilates teacher makes ads for FB and her cat always walks thru or does something funny. Sponges certainly fit the concept of kitty entertainment!

Thank you, Jackie! A friend of mine had some that were gorgeous – reds and purples. Wesley plants them every year. Last year they were taller than the house. And yes – cats. (eye roll) They really are fun, though.
