Tropical Oasis

Tropical Oasis

Mild winter is back in Virginia this week. Our high temperatures will be above freezing for the next few weeks at least, so I’m dreaming of tropical climes. Here’s a tropical card we made at classes this month.

Tropical Oasis, Timeless Tropical, Stampin' Up!

Another card we made at class was a “window card.” We die-cut a Stitched Circle from the front of a Gray Granite card base. I hate wasting usable card stock, so we used the die-cut stitched circle on this card.

First, we adhered a 4″ x 5-1/4″ layer of the gorgeous Tropical Oasis Designer Series Paper (DSP) to the front of a Rococo Rose card base. Then we stamped the sentiment from the Timeless Tropical Stamp Set on the die-cut circle in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink, and adhered the circle using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

We stamped the floral image three times on Shimmer White Cardstock using the amazing Saddle Brown Stazon Ink, then die-cut with the coordinating In the Tropics die. We colored the flowers with Rococo Rose Stampin’ Write Markers and Rococo Rose Classic Stampin’ Pads and Aqua Painters. This gave them a beautiful watercolored look. It also really brought out the pinkish tone in the DSP.

For the flower centers, we used the beautiful Champagne Rhinestone Basic Jewels from the Parisian Blossoms Suite in the new January-June Mini Catalog.

Of course, as always with new catalogs, you can bundle the Timeless Tropical Stamp Set and In the Tropics dies to save 10%. But wait – if you purchase the bundle, you can add a free Level 1 Sale-a-bration product to your order. Even better – add the Tropical Oasis DSP, the Stitched Shapes Dies, and the Saddle Brown StazOn to your order, and you can select two Level 1 Sale-a-bration products or one Level 2 product to your order. Don’t you love Sale-a-bration? You can order products to make an abundance of beautiful cards and also get free stamps, paper, tools, kits, or embellishments. So fun! (Hint: Add a few extra products – Stampin’ Dimensionals, Embellishments, Memento Ink – to bump your order to $150 and you’ll be able to add more Stampin’ Rewards products to your order.)

Here’s a video from Tanner, the Demonstrator Development Manager (DDM) for the Southeast Area (my area!) showing the products in the Tropical Oasis Suite and some fun ways to use them. (I love the wardrobe changes and the last scene. Maybe this is why Tanner is the DDM for the southeast!)

Thanks for stopping by Stamping with Buffy. Have a lovely day!
