Rooted in Purple, Copper, and Orange

Rooted in Purple, Copper, and Orange

Specifically the Stampin’ Up! colors in this card are Gorgeous Grape and Pumpkin Pie. It’s a CASE (copy and share everything) of a card I saw on Brian King’s blog a week or so ago. I loved the colors and the simplicity of the design.

Rooted in Nature, Stampin' Up!

First, I placed the large blizzard stamp from the Beautiful Blizzard Stamp Set (from the Stampin’ Up! Holiday Catalog) onto the Very Vanilla Cardstock (already in the Stamparatus), and closed the plate. Then I inked the bottom part of the stamp with a sponge dauber and Gorgeous Grape Classic Ink. After cleaning the stamp, I repeated with a clean sponge dauber and Pumpkin Pie Classic Ink at the top of the stamp.

I cleaned the stamp again, and added a little Copper Shimmer Paint to the edges of the stamp. The easiest way to do this is to tighten the lid of the Shimmer Paint, shake it well, then use the sponge dauber to collect paint from the inside of the lid.

I added the Copper Shimmer Paint to the entire edge of the stamp. That wasn’t a great idea; the paint acts as a resist, so it’s better to only use the paint on the edges where you will not be stamping the tree.

The tree is from Rooted in Nature, one of my favorite sets in the 2018-19 Stampin’ Up! catalog. I stamped it in Tuxedo Black Memento. Since I used the Stamparatus, I was able to stamp it several times until it was dark enough to suit me.

The sentiment in Gorgeous Grape is also from Rooted in Nature. I added a few Faceted Dots embellishments to the front of the card, then added it to a Paper Pumpkin card base.

Don’t forget today’s Flash Sale from Stampin’ Up! Selected stamps are being offered at a 15% discount. You can see the discounted stamps here, then head to my web site to order. Read more about the sale here.
