Playing Around
I often take photos of my friends’ clothing, because the designs inspire me. The latest was Lorraine’s shirt; you can see it here. This is one of my favorites, by the way.
Today, I was inspired by my own wardrobe. Surprise!! I have branched out into patterns. Stampin’ Up!® makes it easy to mix patterns and colors for art projects, but with my clothes, I’m pretty boring. My standard uniform was jeans or black pants with a solid color top, but lately I’ve been moving into patterned tunics with jeans and leggings. Here’s the card inspired by my very own wardrobe.
I was rushing, so I didn’t do a great job of coloring. I need to fill in a few white flower tips. But here are the details.
Stamp the floral and leaf images from the Floral Phrases Stamp Set several times on Bermuda Bay Cardstock using Versamark ink. Heat emboss with White Stampin’ Emboss Powder, then color with Stampin’ Blends. I used Calypso Coral, Pumpkin Pie, and Cajun Craze.
Add a few extra leaves from the Rooted in Nature and Timeless Textures Stamp Sets using Tuxedo Black Memento Ink. Easy!
Stamp the sentiment from All Things Thanks in Calypso Coral on Petal Pink Cardstock, then punch with the Tailored Tag Punch. Sponge the edges with a little more Calypso Coral ink to make it stand out. Then adhere to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Adhere a 4-1/4″ x 5-1/2″ piece of a Pumpkin Pie design from the Regals Designer Series Paper Stack to a Calypso Coral card base, then add the stamped Bermuda Bay layer to the card.
This card is for someone who made my birthday extra special. I had the happiest birthday with kids and friends. We have a HUGE celebration from the end of August (Amelia’s birthday) until the beginning of October (Mike’s birthday at the end of September and Adrianna’s birthday in early October, plus Mike’s mom’s birthday, his sister, and several nieces). So much fun. From the middle of October until the end of November, I get back on the healthy eating wagon. Then we have Thanksgiving, Katelyn’s birthday, Christmas, and Mom’s birthday, followed shortly by Jon’s birthday. Fortunately most of us are on a low-carb diet, so we can have sugar and wheat free cakes.
Thanks for stopping by Stamping with Buffy. Have a lovely day!

That must be some wild shirt you have! I want to see it at OnStage! Love the card!

Thanks, Susan! The shirt isn’t quite as wild as the card. It’s one of my favorites, so I’m sure I’ll have it at OnStage.

Thanks, Deborah. I think my shirt is more Taken with Teal or Island Indigo. (I just need a moment…They were two of my favorites.)

Buffy, What a pretty card. I love your color combo! I love patterns! I don’t think I really own any solid shirts. Lol!
