Brusho Waterfront

Brusho Waterfront

If you haven’t seen the new 2018 Stampin’ Up! Occasions Catalog, you need to let me know so I can send you one – as well as the 2018 Sale-a-bration Brochure. The products this year are so fun. Two of my favorites are the Brusho Crystal Colour pack and the Waterfront Stamp Set.

Brusho Crystal Colour, Waterfront, Stampin' Up!

Don’t you just want to be on that tropical island? I know it looks a little uninhabited, but on the other side of that little hill – paradise! I know I’d like to be anywhere warm today. It’s been quite chilly, and there was a very cold wind as well. This card is a perfect remedy for the cold. I can almost smell the sea air and hear the sea birds squawking and the waves crashing.

You can easily recreate this card with just a few supplies. I took a wide paintbrush and brushed water over a 4″ x 5-1/4″ piece of Watercolor Paper. Then I tapped some Brusho into palettes (aka “little snack container lids”) and used the brush with water to pick up the color and paint on the card. I started with Prussian Blue at the bottom, then, for the sunset, Brilliant Red, Gamboge (Orange), and Yellow. I used my heat tool to help it dry faster.

All that was left was the gorgeous little island. I used the Waterfront set and stamped the sand in Soft Suede, then the trees in Early Espresso and Tranquil Tide.

I wanted a fun sentiment – and I’ve been doing the year end payroll taxes this week. Just Breathe from the Colorful Seasons Stamp Set in the Stampin’ Up! Annual Catalog seemed the perfect sentiment for my little tropical getaway. I stamped in Basic Black Archival Ink with my Stamparatus (new stamp positioning tool from Stampin’ Up!), then, after cleaning the stamp, I stamped over the original in VersaMark, the heat embossed with Clear Stampin’ Emboss Powder.

I tried several card bases, but Tangerine Tango really brought out the sunset colors.

If you order the Brusho Crystal Colour, the Waterfront Stamp Set, and a pack of Watercolor Paper, you can get a free Level 1 Sale-a-bration product. Heartfelt Blooms, Epic Celebratons, and Amazing You all have sentiments that would look lovely on this card. Or you could go a totally different direction with one of the other stamp sets in the brochure, or the ribbon, Designer Series Paper, or Memories & More card pack. There are so many fun choices!

Thanks for stopping by Stamping with Buffy. Have a lovely day.
