Stamp-Off Color Challenge

Stamp-Off Color Challenge

Cue the confetti – it’s FRIDAY! And that means another Stamp-Off Challenge with Jackie, Susan, and me.

This week we have a color challenge. I love color challenges, and this was a fun combination.

Aren’t those colors yummy? And not just because of the watermelon and peach, which are two of my fav fruits. I love these colors together.

I was going to make a card using balloons – but I just blogged a card with balloons yesterday. So, I’m back to watercoloring flowers.

Rose Wonder, Stampin' Up!, Timeless Textures

I stamped the flower from the Rose Wonder stamp set in Basic Black Archival Stampin’ Ink, then watercolored with Watermelon Wonder and an Aqua Painter. The leaves are colored using Mint Macaron – and then I went back over with very diluted Night of Navy to give some shadows.

I stamped the Crumb Cake layer with various stamps from Timeless Textures in Peekaboo Peach. I also added a few splatters from the set in Night of Navy.

I opted for a sympathy card because I never have any on hand. I’m hoping now that I have one ready, I won’t need it for a very long time! The sympathy sentiments are also from Rose Wonder.

No one could be more surprised than I am that I got this finished. Miss Amelia thinks she doesn’t need to nap anymore. I think differently. She was exhausted today, and although she insisted she didn’t need a nap, I won. While she was sleeping I was able to finish the card and design a swap for next weekend’s OnStage. I also need pillow gifts for team members, but that’s for another day.

After she woke up, Amelia helped me make one of the “bunny bags” from the March Paper Pumpkin kit. It’s adorable! If you’d like the April kit – which was designed by Stampin’ Up! CEO Sara Douglass – be sure to sign up by April 10. If you’d like to try Paper Pumpkin for a month without getting a subscription, you can order a 1-month pre-paid subscription. If you order a 3-month prepaid  subscription today (March 31), you can save $4.00 AND add one last Sale-a-bration item to your order. But hurry! On April 1 it will return to the regular price of $59 and Sale-a-bration will be over. (No fooling!)

Now that you’ve seen my card, check out Susan’s and Jackie’s blogs today. I know they’ll have fabulous projects that will inspire you.

Thanks for stopping by Stamping with Buffy. Have a wonderful day!

Such a pretty card Buffy. I wish I could see it in person because I know that the picture could not fully capture it. Never thought of pairing Crumb with Peakaboo, but really like that look!

I agree with Jackie. The Crumb Cake looks perfect with the other colors. Your card is beautiful and I love your Amelia stories! I am so jealous!

Thanks, Susan! It is fun having Amelia close. But if you don’t see them as often, it makes visits even more special! (I’m jealous, by the way. You get TWO! Double the fun.)

I love this colour combination! Beautiful watercolouring, Buffy; it’s so soft, I can just image the scent of the rose.
