Father Christmas
Father Christmas was one of the first sets in the Stampin’ Up! Holiday catalog that I wanted. But there were a few other sets that were a teeny bit more versatile, so I put it on my “maybe” list. And then I got a notice from my up-upline that I qualified for a gift from her for recruiting last quarter. Woooot! Father Christmas was back on the list!
I love the vintage feel of this set, don’t you? It reminds me of an “old time Christmas.”
I stamped the border in Early Espresso on Crumb Cake cardstock. Then I stamped Santa in black. It may have been Tuxedo Black Memento, or it may have been our Archival Stampin’ Ink. I’m fairly sure it wasn’t StazOn, even though that’s what you’re supposed to use to watercolor.
I wanted a little softer look than I usually get with Stampin’ Write Markers (and I wanted white trim on Santa’s coat), so I dug into my “retired but will never be sold” pile and pulled out my old watercolor pencils. Ah, bliss. Imagine my excitement when I learned that Stampin’ Up! is adding a set of 13 watercolor pencils to the Occasions Catalog! Some demonstrators already have them – either because they designed cards for OnStage, or they were presenters, or they had birthdays close to the OnStage date. All the consumable supplies at the event were given away to attendees. We passed the box, starting with whoever had the closest birthday to the date. Sadly, that person wasn’t me, and the lady who did have the birthday grabbed those pencils straight away. It was still fun – because that box had stamps (ok, those aren’t consumables), blender pens, adhesive, Classic Stampin’ Pads, ribbon and other embellishments, and more. It was like Christmas, and the box kept going around until it was empty. How fun is that? Anyway – let’s just pretend I used our new Watercolor Pencils, ok? You’re going to love them, by the way.
Speaking of the Occasions Catalog, I’ll be ordering them in December, so if you’d like your own copy, please let me know. You can message me with your mailing address and I’ll send one out once I get them.
Hope you’re having an amazing day. Thanks for stopping by Stamping with Buffy.

Love your card Buffy! This was the first set I got from the Holiday Catalogue. And I, too, am excited about having watercolour pencils again – and in SU colours!! And, at OnStage Local I had the birthday closest to the day at my table – and guess what my first pick was?
