This card, using the Sheltering Tree stamp set from the Stampin’ Up! Occasions catalog, reminds me of bike rides on Sunday afternoons. It’s such a fun set – and it’s a “year-long” set. The tree can be summer, winter, spring or fall. Obviously, this is a warm weather one. (I know…the bike and green grass and leaves kind of gave that away!)
I stamped the tree in Early Espresso, then added Pear Pizzazz leaves and a Wild Wasabi ground. The bike is Smoky Slate with Basic Black tires.
This is one of our cards for club. I wanted to use just one stamp set for each card this time, because I want everyone to know how versatile our sets are. Sheltering Tree comes with several sentiments, a rake, a swing, the bike, grass, ground, and leaves. You can use green ink for the leaves, or color them for fall.
There are two more stamps – falling leaves and falling snow. I can’t wait to use the falling leaves, but I just couldn’t bring myself to make another snow card last winter. Ugh. I’m really hoping it’s finally over. It was the winter that just wouldn’t die! Every time it would get pretty and spring-ish, the next day would be warm. But, really, that is spring in Virginia.
Today is Mom’s knee replacement surgery, so I’m heading to the hospital. Then I’m playing for a recital screening, then back to the hospital. Whew! Mom is in good spirits, I think. I think she’s tired of not being able to drive and do all the other things she’s used to doing. She’s not good at being dependent. Her biggest worry right now is that Dad won’t eat lunch while she’s in surgery. We’ve already made plans, but I’ll be sure to tell her – again! My parents are so sweet. Whatever they’re going through, they always care more about how the other one is doing than they do about themselves. They’re a perfect example of how to have a great marriage!
Thanks for stopping by Stamping with Buffy. Have a wonderful day!
