Today is my Wesley’s birthday! He is such an amazing young man. He’s been working at a local grocery store chain for about a year, and he’s already been promoted several times and gotten many raises. He’s very responsible, dedicated and reliable. I’m so very proud of him – and of Jon. I don’t know how Mike & I did it, but we raised two very incredible boys.
Wesley said he had a great day, and we celebrated his birthday the weekend before Mike & I left. I also promised to do something when we get back. (It’s a Mom guilt thing. I know he’s an adult, but it’s the first birthday I’ve missed.) I’m glad he had fun. I know my mom had the boys and Steph (Wesley’s girlfriend) over for dinner tonight and bombarded them with pictures of Mike & me when we were young. Great.
Meanwhile, Mike & I had lunch with some of his friends, a wonderful Russian couple, John & Olga. They took us to a Thai restaurant, and we had a terrific time getting to know them a little better. I thought I’d make them a thank you card for the lunch and slip it in the mail before we leave.
Stamps: Kindness Matters; Ink: Midnight Muse, Summer Starfruit, Soft Suede classic; Midnight Muse, Cajun Craze, Soft Suede stampin’ write markers; Paper: Comfort Cafe designer series paper; Summer starfruit, Very Vanilla card stock; Other: Designer Frames embossing folders, Big Shot, Pool Party seam binding ribbon, stampin’ dimensionals
This card was inspired – well, it was more than inspired. It was CASEd – by a card by Patti Dolatowski of Lake Zurich, Illinois. I changed paper, colors, ribbon and orientation. I love the soft colors in the designer series paper. It’s a new pattern in the 2012-13 catalog called “Comfort Cafe’.”
Thanks for stopping by! Have a wonderful day.
