Beside Me

The Beside Me Stamp Set from Stampin’ Up!® reminds me so much of my son Wesley with his two kids. (Except, of course, the little boy is much bigger than Cade.) I created this for a color challenge for our team. The colors are Fresh Freesia, Real Red, and Lemon Lime Twist. These are perfect colors for flowers, but I wanted to do something a little different.

I stamped the dad and kids on Basic White Cardstock with Tuxedo Black Memento Ink. Then I used Balmy Blue, Pool Party, Basic Black, Real Red, Daffodil Delight, Crumb Cake, Fresh Freesia, Misty Moonlight, and Lemon Lime Twist  Stampin’ Blends to color the image.

I added the birds and sentiment to the sky and on a Fresh Freesia scrap. I die-cut with the retired Rectangle Stitched Dies. I added the stamped panel to a piece of Summer Splash Cardstock, then to a panel of Basic Black, and then to a Real Red card base that I embossed with a retired embossing folder.

The interesting thing about this card is that Amelia is going fishing today! He dad is at work, but her other grandma is taking her. I know she’ll have a blast. I love the image of this little family having a day out with nature!
