It’s the Last Midnight

Ok, that’s not quite true if you live in the Eastern or Central time zones. I think one of my absolute favorite Designer Series Paper packs is Petal Promenade. It’s perfect for cards, scrap booking, or home décor pieces. There are full pages of designs and a page with labels and borders. One side of each paper has photo-realistic flowers and the other has a marbled, textured look.

This is a simple Z-fold card. Create a 5-1/2″ x 4-1/2″ card from a strip of 4-1/4″ x 11″ cardstock (I used Tranquil Tide in this example) by scoring the long side at 5-1/2″. Then score the front at 2-3/4″. Easy!

The floral layer of my card is 2-1/2″ x 4″. The DSP does all the work. I simply stamped a sentiment from Itty Bitty Greetings in Tranquil Tide ink on Very Vanilla Cardstock, then punched with a 1″ circle punch. I sponged it with Blushing Bride ink to tone the Vanilla down a bit and added a little Rich Razzleberry 1/4″ Velvet Ribbon under the sentiment.

The opposite side of the floral DSP is the beautiful marbled image. I stamped just because from the Vertical Greetings Stamp Set, again in Tranquil Tide, along the edge.

Because it’s a Z-fold card, you have a little more opportunity for embellishment, or you can leave the 2-3/4″ x 4-1/2″ inside layer blank for a hand-written note. In this example I added a little stamping and some more of the DSP.

I stamped flowers from Graceful Garden on the 2-1/2″ x 4″ Very Vanilla panel and colored them with Classic Stampin’ Pads and an Aqua Painter. There’s a beautiful floral border in one of the DSP designs, so I cut a 2-1/2″ piece, loosely fussy cut around the flowers, and added it to the bottom of the layer.
