Colorful Waterfront

Colorful Waterfront

Happy Wednesday, Stampers! I got caught up in America’s Got Talent last night, so my blog is a tad late today. My plan has been to write lots of blogs and schedule ahead, but that got a bit derailed with the rain and other things around here.

For today’s card, I decided to pull out two returning stamp sets – Colorful Seasons and Waterfront. Take a look.

Colorful Seasons, Waterfront, Stampin' Up!

This was going to be a totally different kind of card, but after two tries, it just wasn’t working the way I wanted, so I switched course. Still, I like it.

Highland Heather & Coastal Cabana

I’m thinking I may have a new favorite color combination for spring – the new Highland Heather and the returning Coastal Cabana. I stamped some flowers from Colorful Seasons in Highland Heather around the scalloped circle cut-out in a piece of Whisper White Cardstock. Then I stamped the sentiment at the bottom in Bermuda Bay. I did not use my Stamparatus for the sentiment, and it was awful. So I stamped it again on a Whisper White scrap, punched with the Pretty Label Punch, trimmed to make it a little “Word Window,” and added it to the card.

On another piece of Whisper White Cardstock – cut a bit smaller than the top layer – I stamped the water from Waterfront in Coastal Cabana and Bermuda Bay and added a branch and flowers from Colorful Seasons in Soft Suede and Gorgeous Grape (another new color). I added a few Waterfront clouds and sponged the sky with the new Balmy Blue. I added it behind the die-cut layer with Stampin’ Dimensionals, then adhered both layers to the Coastal Cabana card base.

The final element is the little die-cut Adirondack chair in Highland Heather. The chair is one of the Seasonal Layers Thinlits dies. These thinlits coordinate with the Colorful Seasons Stamp Set. I love how the purples and aquas look together. I am so happy to have Coastal Cabana back, and Highland Heather is such a beautiful lavendery purple.

I’m not sure if this is a beach scene, Susan’s lake, or my backyard. Some people have to buy a house at the lake or ocean. This spring, we got a waterfront house for free. Actually, it’s not that bad. There are a couple places in the yard where apparently drains got plugged, so as soon as it dries out enough, Mike’s going to dig a few ditches for new drains. We are actually very lucky. There are so many towns in our area that have experienced serious flooding. We’re not close to a river or creek, so we just had a damp basement.

Thanks for stopping by Stamping with Buffy. Hope you have a lovely day!

Thanks, Susan! Coastal Cabana makes me happy! We’ve actually had three dry days in a row. WOOOOT! And I can actually get to my garden without wearing hip waders. Life is good.
