Perfect Day

Perfect Day

This is a loose CASE of a Karen Barber card. It’s the same basic idea, but I changed the stamps and designer series paper design.

Stampin' Up!, Bunch of Blossoms

I stamped the large and small blossoms from the Stampin’ Up! Bunch of Blossoms set (from the Annual Catalog) four times each in VersaMark, then embossed with Copper Stampin’ Emboss Powder. Then I colored them with Real Red Classic Ink and an aqua painter. I stamped and embossed the “star” center one time, then colored with Basic Black Archival Ink.

I love the sentiment in the Bunch of Blossoms set – Today is the perfect day to be happy. I love looking at positives, so any day I’m alive is a perfect day to be happy! There are always ups and downs in life, so we might as well be happy and roll with them, right?

After punching some leaves from Lemon Lime Twist Cardstock with the Leaf Punch, and punching the flower parts with the Blossom Builder Punch, I was ready to assemble. I adhered some tousled Copper Metallic Thread to the card, then layered the petals to the Petal Passions Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the Occasions Catalog – larger on the bottom, then the smaller ones with Stampin’ Dimensionals, and then the center. I added the punched leaves last, so I could place them where I wanted them under the petals. The last step for the flowers was to add a Glitter Enamel Dot to the center.

The sentiment is stamped in Basic Black Archival Ink on a scrap of Whisper White and notched to create a banner. I layered the DSP to a Basic Black cardstock layer, then to a Real Red card base.

Today’s challenge – find something to be happy about. I just listened to an interview and the lady being interviewed reported that she had been called horrible names because of her beliefs. She is Asian, and she said, “In Asia, if you’re called that, you’ll live a long life. So that’s a plus.” What a way to put a positive spin on an ugly event. While you’re looking for things to be happy about, say something positive to someone. Whether you select a friend, family member, or complete stranger, it will make their day – and yours!

Thanks for stopping by Stamping with Buffy. Have a lovely day!
