Bethlehem Joy
“I don’t have time to make handmade cards.” How many times have you used that as an excuse? Stampin’ Up! has lots of products that invalidate that excuse. This card took me about 10 minutes.
This is an eclipse card. Eclipse cards are all the rage these days, because they’re so fun, so easy, and so beautiful. Basically, you stamp on cardstock (or use Designer Series Paper [DSP] – which you can get free when you buy three through the end of October), then diecut or punch an image or words from the stamped/DSP piece.
For this card, I used the Large Letters Framelits to die-cut JOY from the Christmas Around the World DSP. Simply adhere the DSP or stamped layer to another layer (I used a Champagne Foil Sheet), then add the letters back in with Stampin’ Dimensionals or Foam Adhesive Strips.
So here’s a tip for you. When you add the letters back in, some of them can be turned in different directions and still look ok. Like the “O” in JOY, for example. Yeah. I put the “O” back in upside down. Oops. That has been corrected since the picture was created.
Make sure you keep the “insides” of layers – like the inside of the “O.” You’ll need them when you put your letters back into the card.
When I finished adding everything back in, it seemed a little plain, so I added a die-cut from the Bethlehem Edgelits Dies. I had die-cut some edgelits from Gold Foil Sheets earlier, and they were just sitting on my table waiting to be used. I decided to use it with the Champagne sheet background, because mixed metals are very trendy right now.
Speaking of the Champagne Foil Sheets – these are in the 2017 Holiday Catalog. They’re gorgeous! You need to order at least one pack of these, as well as the Year of Cheer Specialty Washi Tape. These are part of the Year of Cheer suite in the Holiday Catalog, and they’re gorgeous! Stock up now, because there’s no guarantee that these products will carry over to the new Annual Catalog, and products in the seasonal catalogs are “while supplies last.” You don’t want to miss out on these fun products.
Give the eclipse technique a try. If you have the Magnetic Platform and new Big Shot Cutting Pads, you’ll have a much easier time.
Thanks for stopping by Stamping with Buffy. Have a wonderful day!

Thanks, Deborah. They are a lot of fun! (The eclipse cards are much easier to “see” in real life.)
