Wild & Sweet

Wild & Sweet

Hello, everyone! My great-nephew is graduating from high school in a few weeks. How can this be possible? He is such a wonderful guy. Very smart, respectful, and so handsome. I have a hard time believing he’s ready to graduate.

Because we don’t have many friends or relatives graduating from anywhere lately, I don’t have any graduation stamp sets. So I chose the Wild & Sweet Stamp Set. It really doesn’t have much to do with high school graduation, but it kind of looks like the bear is hugging the tree – and I want to give my nephew a big bear hug. Sadly, he lives out of state, so I can’t make it to his graduation, so this “bear hug” will have to do! We’ll pretend one of us is the tree and the other a bear.

Wild & Sweet, Stampin' Up!

I love that this card could be for any reason or any person. I stamped the bear on Basic White Cardstock using Tuxedo Black Memento Ink. Then I colored the tree with Pecan Pie and Mossy Meadow Stampin’ blends, and cut it out with the Deckled Rectangles Dies. I die-cut a piece of Mossy Meadow Cardstock with the next largest Deckled Rectangles Die and adhered the two die-cuts.

After embossing a 4″ x 5-1/4″ piece of Basic White Cardstock with the Fern 3D Embossing Folder, I used a Blending Brush to add a little Mossy Meadow to the embossed panel. I tried to use a very light touch, since I only wanted the raised areas to be inked. Remember to tap the brush onto scrap paper a time or two before you start blending.

I added the embossed piece to a Mossy Meadow card base, then added the Deckled Rectangles die-cuts to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

The sentiment is from the Something Fancy Bundle. There’s a die that will cut it out perfectly, but I forgot about it. I should say, I used the Deckled Rectangle Dies to cut it out so I could keep the continuity. And that’s kind of true.

Thanks for stopping by Stamping with Buffy. Enjoy your weekend – and Happy Mother’s Day!
