My Favorite Die
When I need to make a quick and simple card, the Two-Tone Flora Dies from Stampin’ Up!® are my favorite tools! One die in particular makes it so easy to create a beautiful card. I was so happy that the Two-Tone Flora Stamp Set and coordinating dies carried over to the 2023-24 Annual Catalog!
Here’s the die I used. It doesn’t necessarily coordinate with one of the stamps You can use them together or with other dies, but it’s a “bonus die” in the set.
Here’s the card I made.
I used Basic White Cardstock for the die-cut, then laid it over another 4-1/4″ x 5-1/2″ piece of Basic White Cardstock. I taped the edges of the die-cut with sticky notes to keep it from moving. Painter’s Tape or washi tape will work well too, but I didn’t have any right at hand.
Using Blending Brushes, I added (top to bottom) Lost Lagoon, Berry Burst, and Blackberry Bliss Ink over the die-cut. When I removed the die-cut “stencil” and trimmed the edges this is what was left. It looks 3D in person.
The sentiment (retired) is stamped in Blackberry Bliss Ink on Basic White Cardstock. I die-cut it with one of the Countryside Corners Dies, added a loop of Pool Party Grosgrain Ribbon under it, then adhered it to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. The card base is Berry Burst.
If you save your inked die-cut, you can create a second card with it. It will be a little different, of course as the colors will be backwards. Sadly, I have used mine several times with multiple colors of ink, so I don’t think it would make a very pretty card right now!
This weekend is our annual Apple Blossom Festival in Winchester. The town swells to about three times the normal size (which I think is too big anyway). There are all kinds of events plus two huge parades. It’s a lot of fun for most people, but Mike and I always head to the mountains to escape the craziness. The two of us (and Max) are enjoying the peace and quiet of small town living here in the mountains. Apparently, our Apple Blossom party days are way behind us!
Thanks for stopping by Stamping with Buffy. Have a lovely day – and be sure to check in on Monday for a new Mystery Parts Challenge!
