Just Want To Say…
Welcome back to Stamping with Buffy! I have a quick and simple birthday card for you today. I used the Floral Gallery Dies and Art Gallery Stamp Set as well as the Fancy Flora Designer Series Paper (DSP). These are all retiring in May (sigh). The good news is the Two-Tone Flora Stamp Set & Dies are not retiring. But coordinating DSP almost always does. I’m sad, because I really love this paper!
The first thing I did was to cut the 6″ x 6″ DSP in half diagonally, then trimmed it down to fit in the corner of a Petal Pink card base. There was probably a way to cut it without wasting a lot of paper, but I didn’t use that way. I simply cut the triangle so the 90° angle “legs” were 4″ x 5-1/4″. I will brush up on my geometry and try to get more than two triangles out of the DSP next time.
Next, I die-cut the sentiment from Starry Sky Cardstock using the Floral Gallery Dies. I adhered the DSP and the sentiment to the card. When you do this, make sure you save the “tittle” (or “superscript dot”) for the “j”. I always forget and then use an embellishment – like a rhinestone or enamel dot – instead.
I normally use Stampin’ SEAL Adhesive as my “go to adhesive,” but for sentiments like this, I use the Multipurpose Liquid Glue and a Silicone Craft Sheet. The Craft Sheet is awesome, because if you get a little “off” the card stock, it’s much easier to clean up the Craft Sheet than paper.
Inside, I stamped Happy Birthday in Starry Sky Ink, but with this stamp set, you can “Just want to say” anything you want! And I didn’t use them on this card, but there are dies that cut out the sentiment that says what you “just want to say.”
The Art Gallery Stamp Set and coordinating Floral Gallery Dies are on the Last Chance List and are discounted! But don’t wait to order, because when they’re gone, they’re gone! The Fancy Flora DSP is retiring, but not discounted right now. Still, when it’s gone, it’s gone forever, so don’t wait around to order at the last minute.
Thanks for stopping by Stamping with Buffy. Have a lovely day!
