Seaside Bay
At our March technique class, Christy showed us this super cute fun fold she had gotten in a swap. It really is fun, and I had to try it out.
I love how this card can stand up, but it folds flat for mailing – without messing up the fold!
First, I cut a piece of Mint Macaron 8-1/2″ x 11″ Cardstock to 4-1/4″ x 11″. Next I scored it at 1/2″, 1″, 4-1/2″, 5″, 5-1/2″, 6″, 6-1/2″, 10″, and 10-1/2″.
Use Tear & Tape Adhesive to close the card. (See photo for scoring and tape placement.)
I also cut a 3-1/2″ x 4-1/4″ piece of Sahara Sand Cardstock for the inside back and used the Layering Diorama Dies to cut the front window and a similarly sized piece from the By the Bay Specialty Designer Series Paper. Of course, I did the die-cutting and adhering before I totally closed up the sides.
The rest was simply decorating. Using the Seaside Bay Bundle, I stamped and die-cut the small birds and seashells. Then I stamped some sand on a Sahara Sand strip of card stock for the bottom of the front. My sentiment from the Go To Greetings Stamp Set is stamped on Mint Macaron with Soft Suede ink. I added the die-cuts outside the window and a few Pastel and Iridescent Pearls.
My only problem is that my sentiment says, “Just a note.” Where should I write the note? I’m thinking on the back or on a sticky note. I didn’t factor that part in when I was decorating the beach!
Amelia & I had so much fun on our “sleepover.” Don’t tell her parents, but it’s always a little later than she normally gets to bed when she comes here. We just want to cram as much fun as we can into just a few hours – so who has time to sleep?
Thanks for stopping by Stamping with Buffy. Have a lovely day!
