Sending Smiles

Welcome back to Stamping with Buffy. For the next few weeks, I’m planning to show retiring products – especially those that I haven’t used for awhile. Today, I’m using the Sending Smiles Bundle with some retiring colors.

I decided to use some of my favorite retiring colors for this card. I stamped the flowers from the Sending Smiles Bundle in Bermuda Bay and Mango Melody Ink and the stems and leaves in Pear Pizzazz. I die-cut them with the Sending Dies. Then I die-cut Sending using the Sending Dies from Pacific Point and Bermuda Bay Cardstock. Next, I stamped the sentiment in Pacific Point Classic Ink and die-cut it with one of the labels in the Sending Dies. Finally, I embossed a 4″ x 5-1/4″ piece of Basic White Cardstock with the Timeword Type Embossing Folder. I blended a bit of Pear Pizzazz Ink over the center of the card stock with a Small Blending Brush, then added the die-cut elements to the card.

I added the embossed layer with the adhered die-cuts to a Mang0 Melody card base. Bermuda Bay and Mango Melody have always been two of my favorite colors, so I’m sad to see them retire, but I’m happy to see some of the new colors.

Today was the first day of the new catalog preorder for Stampin’ Up!® Demonstrators. I can’t wait to get my order Thursday! Almost everything in my order was new colors – card stock, Stampin’ Write Markers, Stampin’ Blends, and Ink Pads and refills. I did order a few more things, but the order was mostly new color products.

When I first saw the list of what was carrying over, I realized that most of my “carry over” stamps hadn’t been used much. And I have ribbon that hasn’t even been opened. So I’ve decided to focus on what I already have right now and add new products in over time. That’s a new thing for me, and I’m kind of excited to see what I do with the carry over stamps and new colors!

In the meantime, I had a super fun time today using retiring stamps and colors. I’m excited to show you what I’ve been working on.
