March Mystery Pieces
Welcome back to Stamping with Buffy! I am happy to share some more “Mystery Pieces Cards” with you today, but first –
As I promised Friday, here are links to retiring products. Tomorrow you can enjoy discounts on many of the retiring products, but you can still order now (you just won’t get the discounts). But please know that popular items may sell out before tomorrow’s discounts are added.
Pay attention to the “key” that tells you what’s actually retiring and what’s being reconfigured (like our Stampin’ Write Markers). And some of the “retiring” products are just the bundle; products will still be available “a la carte.” Please contact me if you have questions!
Here are the Mystery Pieces Cards for March. These were so fun!
We got a piece of the Ready To Ride Designer Series Paper (DSP), Basic Black, Very Vanilla, and Basic Gray Cardstock, and some Pumpkin Pie Twine from the Three Twine Combo Pack. The DSP and Twine are from the January-April Mini Catalog. These are so “manly,” right? Well, I went the other way.
This is my card. I used the dark side of the DSP (not the Pumpkin Pie side). I used one of the dies in the Irresistible Blooms Bundle to die-cut them. If I were doing it again, I would not do that. They are not so much fun to glue to the card stock!
I embossed the flowers and leaves from the Irresistile Blooms Stamp Set in Silver Stampin’ Emboss Powder on the Basic Black Cardstock, then colored them with Watercolor Pencils. It’s been a while since I made this, but I think I used Pumpkin Pie and Granny Apple Green Pencils to color the flowers. Then I glued the die-cut strips over the cardstock. I was thinking about the 70’s when we had beads strung over doorways instead of doors. There wasn’t a lot of privacy, but it was cool, Man!
I also stamped the sentiment from the Irresistible Blooms Stamp Set in Versamark Ink and embossed it with Silver Stampin’ Emboss Powder. I die=cut it with one of the Tailor Made Tags. The Very Vanilla Cardstock was a little bright with all the gray and Black, so I used Blending Brushes to add some Pumpkin Pie Ink over the tag to tone it down, then added the twine. I adhered the tag over the “beads,” then adhered the Basic Black layer to the Basic Gray card base. (I’m loving the Online Exclusives; can you tell?)
This is Nadine’s Card. I love how she used both sides of the DSP. The Pumpkin Pie really brightens up the card! And it’s great for “guy cards.”
This is Christy’s card. Look at how she used the twine! So cool. And she also used both sides of the DSP.
And this is Kay’s card. Kay is our guest designer. She helped Christy pick out the pieces for the challenge, so she made a card too. I love this. She used a die-cut with folded card stock to create the base, then added the extra elements over the tag. Here’s the inside.
Isn’t it fun how she added the He’s the Man elements (from the 2022-2023 Annual Catalog) to her card? What a great Father’s Day card, don’t you think? And it illustrates perfectly how well Stampin’ Up!® products coordinate.
Thanks for stopping by Stamping with Buffy. Have lovely day!
Such fun. I love seeing all the different layouts using the same products.
