Embossed & Watercolored Cottage Rose
I have a craft day at my office the last Monday of every month for any of my crafters who would like to drop in. It’s fun being together and seeing what everyone’s working on. And it’s a chance to catch up on some projects. I had several things I wanted to work on, but this was the first.
I had fun with this! First, I stamped the flowers from the Cottage Rose Stamp Set two times in Versamark on Basic Black Cardstock, then embossed with gold powder. Then I colored the images with Melon Mambo, Rich Razzleberry, and Granny Apple Green Watercolor Pencils. I used both assortments of pencils. After I was finished coloring, I took a paper towel and buffed the embossed areas to shine up the embossing a bit. I stamped the sentiment, also from the Cottage Rose Stamp Set in Versamark and again embossed with gold powder. I added the Black Cardstock to a Rich Razzleberry card base.
I was very happy with the way this turned out, but I am just now realizing I didn’t use any embellishments. I think it needs a little something more, so I’ll work on it tomorrow.
This was, again, very simple and quick! I want to do another one and work on a bit more shading. When I was in school, we were graded on how completely we colored images. Now I’m realizing that I don’t have to color every single centimeter of the image! I’m working on it.
Just a reminder – the Stampin’ Up! Last Chance List comes out today, so if there’s anything you love, you will want to order it as soon as you can. There will be discounts on some retiring products, but after the list comes out, popular items will sell out quickly – even before the “sale” price takes effect. So don’t wait around or you could be disappointed. Or you can pay hugely inflated prices on “retired product sales” later!
Thanks for stopping by Stamping with Buffy. Have a lovely day!
Pretty. I love how the colors pop on the black background!

You inspired me with your card a few days ago!
This is gorgeous – love the colours! I don’t think it needs any embellishments; the rich colours with the gold are so beautiful 🙂
