Just a Note from the Desert
Every year about this time (or maybe a month or two earlier), I start looking at my Designer Series and Specialty Papers and realize that I have once again given in to temptation and ordered more than I can use. I can’t seem to help myself. I love it all, But when I get it, it’s so pretty that I hate to cut into it. *sigh*
So now I’m on a mission to use as much as I can in the next five weeks or so. For today’s card, I used four different packs.
I used the Desert Details Bundle for the stamped images (except the sentiment) and die-cuts. First, I cut a 4″ x 5-1/4″ piece of the Dry Brushed Metallic Specialty Designer Series Paper (DSP) in the January-April Mini Catalog. Next I cut the larger frame using one of the Desert Details Dies from a piece of the Delicate Desert DSP and layered that to the Dry Brushed Metallic Paper. Next, I used the smaller frame die for the Very Vanilla piece. I stamped the sentiment from the Go To Greetings Stamp Set in Soft Succulent and I repeatedly stamped the smaller flower image in Sahara Sand. Except for the first image, I stamped off each time.
I used a piece of the Fine Shimmer Paper, also from the January-April Mini, to cut the desert greenery. This paper is gorgeous. It is very shimmery, but the glitter bits don’t flake off. I haven’t tried stamping on it, but it’s so smooth, I’m thinking you could! Next, I stamped the larger flower in Soft Suede on a piece of the Brushstroke Specialty Paper from the 2022-2023 Annual Catalog. Don’t be afraid to stamp on your DSP. You can get beautiful results!
I layered all the pieces, then added them to a Sahara Sand card base. This card is full of shimmer and shine. Since it’s mostly die-cuts, it’s also quite simple!
Thanks for stopping by Stamping with Buffy. Have a lovely day!
