Naturally Gilded with Brilliant Wings
Welcome back to Stamping with Buffy! I have definitely been into “simple” cards lately. They don’t actually qualify for Simple Stamping, because I’ve almost always used either a die or punch. But the cards have been simple to create.
For this card, I used the Naturally Gilded Specialty Designer Series Paper (DSP) that will be available March 1. (Of course, if you’re a Stampin’ Up!® Demonstrator, you can order it now.) There are six single sided pages in this paper collection – All have metallic nature scenes. This one is Silver and White, and the other two designs are Copper and White, and Gold and Vanilla. There are two pages of each design. So fun – and these are beautiful.
The last time we had metallic/white paper, I spritzed some color onto it. I decided to use Blending Brushes this time. I brushed Parakeet Party, Tahitian Tide, and Granny Apple Green over the 4″ x 5-1/4″ design. The metallic acts as a resist so only the white part (or vanilla) takes on the color. Since the ink on the metallic areas doesn’t absorb the ink, I buffed the silver parts with a soft cloth to be sure none of the ink rubbed off onto something else.
So now that I had a cool background, what should I do with it? I die-cut butterflies using the Brilliant Wings Dies and Silver Foil. Then I stamped the sentiment from the Charming Sentiments Stamp Set on another piece of the foil with Versamark and embossed with Black Stampin’ Emboss Powder. I die-cut this with the coordinating die in the Sentiment Silhouettes Dies. Currently, you can order the stamp set and dies as a bundle or separately. If you use the bundle number, you’ll save 10%.
See how easy that was? Piece of cake! I love the way it turned out. The Naturally Gilded DSP is one of the Online Exclusive products that will be available March 1. These products won’t be in a printed publication, but you can find them in my store beginning March 1, 2023.
Thanks for stopping by Stamping with Buffy. Have a lovely day!
