Watercolored Irristible Blooms
Welcome back to Stamping with Buffy! I have news for you today! Stampin’ Up!® is adding a new line of products beginning in March.
Online Exclusives will have their own tab in the store, and new products will be released three times a year. These products will not be in a printed publication (i.e. “catalog”) but will be available online only. Here’s a sneak peek at some of the new products that will be released March 1.
Today’s card uses the Irresistible Blooms Stamp Set. This set has a coordinating set of dies that you can bundle with the stamps (to save 10%) or order separately. There’s also beautiful Designer Series Paper (DSP), Specialty DSP in Copper, Gold, and Silver, three 3D Embossing folders, alphabet stamps, and embellishments. And even more will be added in March.
The technique I used on this card is one where you create your own background by blending ink onto paper. After you blend the ink, you spritz with water, then wait for the paper to dry, then stamp, emboss, and watercolor the images over the background. That’s a lot of waiting for someone who is “patience challenged.” Don’t you love that term? Thanks, Jackie!!
I decided to skip a few steps and use some of the gorgeous DSP from Stampin’ Up!®. This paper is from the Fancy Flora Suite, the 6″ x 6″ Fancy Flora DSP. One side has a floral design and the other side of each sheet has a fun background. I thought this would be perfect for my card.
First, I stamped the flowers and leaves from the Irresistible Blooms Stamp Set in Versamark directly onto the DSP, then embossed with Copper Stampin’ Emboss Powder in the Metallics powder collection. I used Calypso Coral and Granny Apple Green Ink Refills and a Water Painter to color the flowers and leaves. After I was finished, I blotted any ink residue from the embossing powder with a paper towel.
One of the images in the stamp set is a splatter image, so I stamped a few splatters in Night of Navy. The sentiment is also in the Irresistible Blooms Stamp Set. I stamped on Night of Navy Cardstock with Versamark Ink and embossed with Copper powder.
I added the stamped DSP to a piece of Night of Navy Cardstock, then to a piece of Soft Seafoam Cardstock that I embossed with one of the new Basic 3D Embossing Folders.
Check my online store on March 1 to order the new Online Exclusive products and to see the extras that will be added then.
Thanks for stopping by Stamping with Buffy. Have a lovely day!

Considering I can be patient challenged, I love that you used the DSP for the background! 🙂
