Greatest Journey

Greatest Journey

Welcome back to Stamping with Buffy! Today I have an awesome card for you that was designed by one of our “team members.” The quotes are there because Kathy isn’t technically part of our team. She moved here, but her upline and stampers are in another state. She happened to be doing a craft fair with one of my other team members and they started chatting. One thing led to another, and Carol invited Kathy to our team gatherings. We quickly adopted her and she’s a hugely valued member of our team! It’s funny, because when new people come to our gatherings each month, they really don’t know who’s adopted and who’s not. It’s so fun!

Just to clarify – our gatherings are kind of like meetings, but since all of my team members keep up-to-date on what’s going on at Stampin’ Up!®, going through all the updates were super boring. So we stopped having “meetings.” I post updates in our facebook group, and we have a “business chat” for those who want to build a stamping business a week later. But our meetings are more like “gatherings” now – we chat, have snacks and a challenge, and a make & take. I think our relationships are stronger now since we share what we’ve been creating and what’s happening in our lives. And “meeting” just sounds too formal and boring.

Here’s the make & take Kathy brought for us at our gathering tonight.
Greatest Journey, Stampin' Up!, Picturesque

This isn’t the best photo, but I took it at the gathering with lots of stuff all around (instead of in my little light box at home). But I LOVED the card Kathy made and wanted to post hers.

Our area has lots of mountains, hiking and biking trails, and camping areas, so the Greatest Journey Bundle is perfect for us! Mike and the boys have also done some mountain biking. I have as well, but on a more limited scale. The first time I went, I kind of messed up a downhill and flipped over my bike and ended up sprawled in the dirt with mud in my mouth. I’m more of a cheerleader now.

Kathy made creating this card so easy! She had a plate full of die-cuts from the Greatest Journey Dies, and pre-cut Enjoy the Journey Designer Series Paper (DSP). This card reminds me so much of Mike who biked through the Rockies for a fundraiser several (well, many) years ago.

But even more fun is the way this card is designed. It’s like an easel. Here’s how it looks from the side.

The card base is 4-1/4″ x 11″, scored at 5-1/2″, but there’s an extra 4-1/4″ x 5″ piece added to it. It’s scored on each end at 1/2″, then at 2-1/2″. Glue the 1/2″ edges to the bottom front and back (inside) to form the easel. Genius!

The sentiment is from the Picturesque Stamp Set which also works perfectly with this DSP. Kathy always brings such fun ideas to our gatherings. And the Greatest Journey Bundle is perfect for outdoor enthusiasts! And now I have more to add to my wish list! (Thanks, Kathy!)

Thanks for stopping by Stamping with Buffy. Have a lovely day!
