In the Country
Welcome back, Stamping friends! I was hesitant to break open my In the Country Stamp Set from Stampin’ Up!® Sale-a-bration. I don’t always have the best success with images like this, but I decided to just play today. My first attempt was not successful at all, so I turned the card stock over and tried again.
To make this card, I stamped the image in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink onto Very Vanilla Cardstock. Next, I used Mango Melody, Granny Apple Green, Mossy Meadow, and Coastal Cabana chalks from the Soft Pastels Assortment to add a little color. (Tip: use the “spatula” from the Take Your Pick Tool to scrape the top coating off the chalk before you use it.) I colored the images directly with the chalk, then used a dusting cloth to smooth it out and get rid of excess dust. Of course, you can also scrape some chalk onto your Silicone Craft Sheet and apply it to the image with a Blender Pen if you’d like.
After I stamped the sentiment, also in Tuxedo Black Memento, I was ready to adhere the stamped layer to some Basic Black Cardstock. As I was searching my card stock stash for some Crumb Cake for the next layer, I found a piece already embossed with the Brick & Mortar 3D Embossing Folder. Perfect! I lightly sponged a bit of the black ink over the bricks, then adhered the smaller layers to it. Next I added one more layer of Basic Black before adding it all to a Balmy Blue card base.
So fun – and the stamp set is free with a $50 order during Sale-a-bration through February 28. For my next card with this set, I’m going to use Stampin’ Write Markers, Stampin’ Spritzers, and my Stamparatus. Stay tuned…
