Easter Bunny

Happy February, and welcome back to Stamping with Buffy! I was trying to finish up my yearly filing for employer tax stuff last night, so didn’t get a chance to schedule a post for today. Actually, I have been trying to finish up my filing for three days, but I keep getting locked out of the website. I’m not sure why; my numbers and their numbers don’t agree, but I’m the one who gave them their numbers and I’m giving them the same numbers. How can they not agree?

I decided to take a sanity break and create a card today, because I’m way behind on my creative and fun projects (and that’s a lot more fun than taxes!). This started out as a swap, but I decided to send it to my bunny loving granddaughter instead.

Isn’t he cute? When I send it, I’ll add a sentiment, but here’s how I made this.

First, I cut an oval in a piece of Basic White Cardstock using the Framed Florets Dies. I die-cut the fancy frame from another piece of Basic White and used Small Blending Brushes to add Pear Pizazz Ink to it.

On the front of the piece with the Oval cut-out, I stamped some of the grass from the Easter Bunny Stamp Set (in the January – April Stampin’ Up!® Mini Catalog) using Pear Pizazz Ink. On a separate piece of Basic White Cardstock, I stamped the bunny and the butterfly, also from the Easter Bunny Stamp Set in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink. I colored the bunny with Crumb Cake and Petal Pink Stampin’ Blends and the butterfly with Granny Apple Green and Daffodil Delight Stampin’ Blends. Then I punched the bunny with the Easter Bunny Punch (order it with the Easter Bunny set using the bundle number and save 10%). I fussy cut the butterfly, since there’s no punch or die for it. Then I set them aside.

Next, I adhered a Window Sheet to the back of the Basic White layer with the oval cut out. I wrapped Foam Adhesive Strips around the back of the oval piece over the Window Sheet using the oval cut out as a guide for where to put the strips. Then I tossed some of the Loose Daisy Embellishments and a few of the Green and Blue For Everything Fancy Sequins into the Adhesive Strips “fenced area.”

I added a piece of the Rain or Shine Designer Series Paper (DSP) behind the Basic White/Window Sheet layer over the Foam Adhesive Strips. I added a few extra Stampin’ Dimensionals in the corners then adhered this entire piece to a Basic White card base.

Finally, I added the bunny and butterfly with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I have to admit, I have some of the retired Snowfall Accents Puff Paint and had to add it to the little bunny tail. Amelia will love this, even though, again, this bunny does not look like her BunBun. But, still, he’s totally adorable, just like BunBun.
