Beautifully Happy
Today I have a simple card for you. Still, I think it’s very elegant despite its simplicity.
First, I stamped the flowers and greenery from the new Two-Tone Flora Bundle in the January-April Mini Catalog. I stamped in Evening Evergreen Classic Ink on a Basic White card base (5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″, scored and folded at 4-1/4″ to form a 4-1/4″ x 5-1/2″ card), but to make this even simpler, you could use the Basic White Note Cards & Envelopes. That way, you have your card base already made and you don’t need to buy an envelope, because it comes with the note cards! I think it’s a better size for this design as well. Sadly, that thought didn’t occur to me until I was finished.
I love to color images, but I know a lot of people do not. So this technique gives you a little color without the time. And it brings out your inner child, because splattering is a fun technique. Take a Watercolor Pencil (I used Melon Mambo and Granny Apple Green) and a Water Painter or paint brush. Make sure it’s really wet, then paint along the point of one of the Pencils. When you’ve picked up a bit of color, hold the brush in one hand (I use my non-dominant one) and whack the brush with the index finger of your other hand. Easy! If you need more ink, simply repeat the process. Switch pencils and repeat. If the mess this creates at the tip of the pencil bothers you, it’s ok. It will disappear when you sharpen your pencil.
Stamp the sentiment from the Beautifully Happy Stamp Set in Melon Mambo Classic Ink, then add a few Pastel Pearls to the card.

Thanks, Susan! It was really hard, because I wanted to add a layer (or two!). But it was a nice break for the class. Like “recess!”

This is so dang pretty. I love the “unique” location for the sentiment and the beautiful faux coloring of the flowers with the splatters
