Nothing’s Better Than Daily Chocolate & Coffee

For classes this year, I’m heading back to my roots and offering a 3D project as well as greeting cards. I knew I wanted to make a hanging calendar, but I didn’t want anything that would take a lot of time or supplies. Sometimes getting a bag full of card stock, paper, and other supplies can be a bit daunting, and our class time is limited!

Here’s my first idea, but I know I’ll change it before the class!

I chose Pale Papaya Cardstock for the base. Since five of our current In Colors will be retiring in a few months, I’ll be using the 2021-2023 In Colors (Polished Pink, Pale Papaya, Evening Evergreen, Soft Succulent, Fresh Freesia) a lot in the near future. These truly are some of my favorite colors, and I’m hoping some come back when we next have a “Color Refresh!”

The Pale Papaya base is 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″ I covered the top half with two 2″ x 5″ pieces of the Dandy Designs 12″ x 12″ Designer Series Paper (DSP). This paper is not only very pretty, but it’s FREE with a $100 order during Sale-a-bration (ending February 28, 2023). Then I covered the “seam” with a Mango Melody strip of card stock that I die-cut with the Basic Borders Dies.

The bottom half of the base is covered with a 3-3/4″ x 5″ piece of Basic White Cardstock. Then I added another die-cut strip of Mango Melody Cardstock, plus a layer of Mango Melody Cardstock cut just a little larger than the calendars I’m using. I added the calendar to the Mango Melody layer with Tear & Tape Adhesive and the Mango Melody “2023” (die-cut with the Alphabet à la Mode Dies from the January-April Mini Catalog) with Fine-Tip Glue.

The last touch was to stamp Calypso Coral cups and Soft Suede and Crumb Cake chocolate from the Nothing’s Better Than stamp set, die-cut them with the coordinating Love You More Than Dies, and add them to the panel. I used two magnets – one at the top and one at the bottom – to hang it.
