Playing in the Rain
Welcome back to Stamping with Buffy. I am so excited about Stampin’ Up!® Sale-a-bration and the new January-April Mini Catalog! I am happy to share this fun shaker card with you. It uses the Playing in the Rain Bundle from the new mini. Actually, it uses a lot of the products (ok, all!) in the Rain or Shine Suite Collection. The bundle includes the Playing in the Rain Stamp Set and dies. The other suite items are the oh, so cute Loose Daisy Embellishments, the Raindrops Embossing Folder, and the Rain or Shine Specialty Designer Series Paper (DSP).
This looks so much cooler with the shaker items in motion, but before I took the photo, I tapped them all to the bottom. This is commonly called a “Faker Shaker,” but I love it because it turns most of your card into a shaker card – and these are so fun!
To create this card, I first cut a 4-1/8″ x 5-3/8″ piece of Daffodil Delight Cardstock. Then I ran it through my Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine with the Raindrops Embossing Folder. Next, I cut a 3-1/2″ x 4-3/4′ piece of the Rain or Shine DSP. I stamped the sentiment From the Thanks a Bunch free Sale-a-bration Stamp Set directly onto the DSP with Orchid Oasis Classic Ink. I adhered the DSP to the Daffodil Delight Cardstock, then placed them in a Clear Medium Envelope. Before I sealed the envelope, I tossed in some of the Loose Daisy Embellishments, Effervescent Elements, and For Everything Fancy Sequins. I have discovered that the more “shakers” you add, the cooler and more fun your card is.
I closed the envelope as tightly as it would go, then wrapped the excess to the back and adhered with Tear & Tape Adhesive. I adhered the envelope to a Granny Apple Green Card base with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
On a scrap of Basic White Cardstock, I stamped the turtle, then die-cut him with the coordinating Playing in the Rain Die, and colored him with Stampin’ Blends.
I adhered him to the front of the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals, and the card was finished. So easy and fun!
We’ll be making this card at classes this month, but if you live too far away to attend, I’ll demonstrate it on my facebook page, Stamping with Buffy, on January 25 at 11 am. If you want to make the card along with me, simply order the products below. If you order on my web site using the host code for January (X9KKS6ZV), I’ll send you more ideas for using this suite! Remember, if your order is $150 or over, do NOT use the host code, because you’ll want the Stampin’ Rewards for yourself. And, as always during Sale-a-bration, for every $50 you spend, you can order a FREE Sale-a-bration product!
If you want to attend the class in person, simply RSVP on my site for Wednesday, January 18 or Saturday, January 21.
Thanks for stopping by Stamping with Buffy. Have a lovely day!
