Seaside Bay
Welcome back, my friends! I am so excited to share this project with you, because it uses a few products from the By the Bay Suite from the January-April 2023 Mini Catalog from Stampin’ Up!®
But first – get ready for tomorrow (December 1, 2022), because Stampin’ Up!® will be adding new items to the Clearance Rack, including dies from the Perfect Partners Promotion! So if you missed them, snag them now, but shop early, because everything is while supplies last.
The Last Chance Sale of retiring products from the July-December Mini Catalog also begins tomorrow, and lots are being offered at a discount. Check out the list here, then head to my store early tomorrow to pick up the products you missed buying earlier. Again, all items are while supplies last, so don’t wait until the end of the sale or you could be disappointed. If your order is less than $150, please use the monthly host code (JJYNM9QW, always available in the right sidebar of my blog). If your order is $150 or more, please do not use the code, because you’ll want the Stampin’ Rewards for yourself!
So now – here’s my card using products from the upcoming By the Bay Suite.
I LOVE this suite! Before I married my Mike, I was a mountain girl. I loved the mountains, and I still do. But Mike’s favorite relaxing spot was the beach. And now? We both love the mountains and the beach. It’s hard to tell which is our favorite, because it kind of depends on the time of year. But this suite caught my eye as soon as I saw it in the January-April Mini Catalog.
First, I knew I wanted to use the interactive oyster die from the Seaside Bay Bundle (Seaside Bay Stamp Set and Dies). I am so, so happy that Stampin’ Up!® is giving the stamps and dies the same name. My old brain just couldn’t keep up with two names in each bundle!
I added Crumb Cake ink to the die with a Blending Brush before I die-cut. And look – it opens up, just like an oyster!
I stamped the sentiment inside the Petal Pink oyster using Soft Suede Classic Ink. And I colored the pearl embellishment with several Stampin’ Blends, because I didn’t think a pearl sitting inside an oyster would be beautifully polished. This one is still probably too perfect to be in the shell, but I’m ok with it!
I cut a piece of Crumb Cake Cardstock, then stamped the sand & shells stamp in Sahara Sand Ink. I tore the top off the card stock, added some die-cut sea grass in Coastal Cabana and Pool Party Cardstock, then added the oyster. I layered this to a 3″ x 4-1/4″ piece of the gorgeous By the Bay Designer Series Paper (DSP) after I had stamped some birds from the Waves of the Ocean Stamp Set in Night of Navy ink in the sky. I embossed a 4″ x 5-1/4″ piece of Very Vanilla Cardstock with the Seashells 3D Embossing Folder, then added it to a Night of Navy card base. Then I layered everything else onto the Very Vanilla embossed layer.
I am so happy with how this turned out, and am seriously thinking of becoming a “snowbird.” Except, here in Northwestern Virginia, it’s still fairly warm during the day. It’s the best place to live, because while we experience all four seasons, the extreme ones (summer and winter) are never too bad.
Thanks for stopping by Stamping with Buffy. Have a lovely day! And don’t forget to check tomorrow’s sales!
(Please note that the DSP, dies, and sentiment aren’t available yet, they won’t be in the supply list.)

I love this suite! It goes really well with some of the other “ocean” sets. And, yes, the DSP is awesome.

Buffy, this is so pretty, with the background and birds. Didn’t realize that the shell opens up for the sentiment11

Thanks, Jackie! Yes, that shell is fun – but it’s just the die-cut that opens. I love having the little surprise inside, though!
