Forever Fern Thanks
Happy Saturday, my friends! I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving. All my kids were here, plus my mom and niece and Stephanie’s younger sister. It was so nice, because everyone chipped in and brought a dish or two, so I didn’t have to cook much at all. And everything was delicious!
Mike and I always head to the mountains after dinner, because our anniversary is usually a few days after Thanksgiving We enjoy just relaxing, reading, and enjoying life without a schedule for a few days. Last night, we were watching TV and Mike got a notification that someone – or something – was on our porch. “Buff, look at this! I think there’s a rat on our porch.” I was hoping he was kidding, because all rodents creep me out. I can handle squirrels, but that’s about it. I declined to look at his phone. “But I need you to help me verify if it’s a rat.” Ummm – keep watching. Maybe he’ll smile for the camera. Turns out it was a little opossum. Which is weird, because we’ve never had one near the house before. Maybe it ate some bugs while it was there! We do have a stray cat (Mike has named him Bob) that hangs out on our porch some nights; I hope Bob and the opossum get along!
Our demonstrator team’s challenge for the meeting we had in November was to create a thank you or gratitude card without using flowers. Not using flowers wasn’t a challenge to a couple team members, but for the rest of us, well – almost all of us used leaves. Everyone who brought a challenge project gets their name in a drawing and the winner gets all the cards. I won this month, and I showed you Sandy’s card here. Here’s Nadine’s card.
Isn’t that gorgeous? I love how she masked a circle in the center, then stamped the leaves from the Forever Fern Stamp Set and Very Vanilla Cardstock. I am guessing, but I think she used Mossy Meadow, Blackberry Bliss, and Merry Merlot (or another red). The background dots are stamped in the same colors. The sentiment is from the Hand-Penned Petals Stamp Set.
I’ll post the other cards from the challenge next week. They were all so lovely, and I happily accepted my “win.”
Thanks for stopping by Stamping with Buffy. Have a lovely day!
